KetlinNarris: I did get a chance to work on cedric a bit
mootascara: oh? and?
KetlinNarris: He's a prince and his father has just died. He has to decide whether or not to take the throne
mootascara: aww poor guy
KetlinNarris: thats who he is..... and I toyed with an idea of whta happens next but Im not sure if I like it or not
KetlinNarris: you want to hear my idea Im not sure I like?
mootascara: sure
KetlinNarris: when he decides to take the throne, but before he announces it to the public, his.....advisor or care taker or something kidnaps him and he's dumped in a place where men are very much below women. They think he's insane at first, which maybe saves him from jail or death, but when he comes to himself again he has to contend with serving a woman who.....thinks he's hot and has absolute power over him *cough*
mootascara: lol
mootascara: I can't help you with that storyline.. at least not at this exact moment
KetlinNarris: it could be quite trying, considering he wishes for escaping hehe
mootascara: Though.... maybe....=ponders=
KetlinNarris: I know if I put him in a story I can come up with the women who wants him, but I was just throwing ideas around in case you wanted to grab any
mootascara: lol you know....I could maybe pull this new character into that place.. though she'd be lower class... and not fully on her rocker
KetlinNarris: Low class for a women would be way above men still
mootascara: yes. she'd have freedome of movement to go where ever she wanted kind of thing.
KetlinNarris: kinda of like in America, after the slaves were freed lower class and higher class whites joined against them
mootascara: that.. or she has really high standing... but being nuts..
KetlinNarris: Ive decided that some men are free and some are downright slaves-- so it would be like.....
KetlinNarris: I like the hight standing one
KetlinNarris: it would be like as young adults they'd be free, or if no one wanted them, but if a woman wanted to marry or own one (little difference) they werent free anymore
mootascara: ahh... =demented grin=
KetlinNarris: or at least high enough to own a slave, which I suppose is nearly anyone
KetlinNarris: she should be in a position to claim him for herself, whether just because she's there or.....whatever
KetlinNarris: I like this. She is going to want him?
mootascara: lol most probably
KetlinNarris: yes!
KetlinNarris: we';re so evil
mootascara: lol
mootascara: =impish grin= aye
KetlinNarris: ready to be evil?
mootascara: sure.
KetlinNarris: *giggls*
KetlinNarris: I suppose I should start with him wandering the streets half off his own rocker?
mootascara: that could work, would give me a setting to get her into
KetlinNarris: er, thats all I know about the society, but it seems they are industrial, not agricultural
KetlinNarris: you know, cities rather than farms helter skelter
mootascara: yeah
mootascara: lol but it still lets me bring her in easier
mootascara: =doesn't fully know herself yet=
KetlinNarris: I know, Im just explaining thats its a city
mootascara: ^-^ ok
KetlinNarris: Nobody noticed when a strange man in strange blue, pink, and black clothing was dropped off at the edge of [nation's name]. They did, however, notice when he wandered into their crowded city streets, and it became obvious that he had no woman watching over him and that he seemed mindless of those around him. He walked past women as if they were the same level as he, and he looked at the ground, mumbling off and on and taking notice of little else.
The resentment towards this cumilated somewhere just between the residental and business areas of town, and a crowd gathered finally caused him to stop wandering.
mootascara: A strange girl, perhaps 18, was attracted by the croud. Perhaps someone had brought a wild beast to the city again. ..She liked when they brought the pretty animals.. She was of medium bild, with grey eyes and limp brown hair. She had a strange marking under her right eye. Her clothing marked her as upperclass, though she wasn't as clean as others of her class were. She looked like she would better frequent the gutters then the larger dwellings.
Seeing her the croud let her through, as if they didn't want to touch her. Her right eye narrowing somewhat, she peeked intrigued at the man in pink and blue.. strange animal this was...
KetlinNarris: "That man won't move aside for me!" a woman complained angrily. THe crowd began muttering-- did he belong to anyone? Cedric closed his eyes to shut them out.
mootascara: Her head tilted to the side, her lower lids half comming up over her eyes. She hissed at the angry woman then made her way to Cedric and reached out to take his hand.
KetlinNarris: He let her, and commenced mumbling jitterish as he opened his eyes. (yes!)
mootascara: She tugged lightly on his hand to get him to walk with her.
KetlinNarris: "Who are you?" he asked quickly, ignoring the crowds reaction to his rude question
mootascara: She stopped, her eyes widening then slapped him accross the face with a growl and tugged on his hand to follow again.
KetlinNarris: He whimpered and followed her (she'll never see that again)
mootascara: (lol)
mootascara: She lead him through the streets to one filled with large houses, near to estates actually, and into one of the houses. Once inside she lead him through the house upstairs to a large room, her room. The room made an attempt to be pretty, but was filled with dark, sad things. It very much resembled the girl.
She closed the door behind them.
KetlinNarris: He let go of her hand and backed away, narrowing his eyes.
mootascara: She locked the door, the key dissapearing down the front of her shirt, then went and sat on her bed.
KetlinNarris: He stuttered with the effort of speaking coherently, "C-can I...lay down, Miss?"
mootascara: She nodded once, watching him.
KetlinNarris: He lay across the middle of her bed, sideways, and closed his eyes, looking very much like he would fall asleep. And no wonder, considering the tattered condition of his clothes idicated he had not lived easily.
mootascara: She watched him for a moment, then curled up beside him one arm drapping over top of him as if she were snuggling a teddy bear.
KetlinNarris: He fell asleep for a few hours, until the drug wore off completely. When he woke up, he woke up slowly, and with a big headache.
mootascara: The girl was still snuggled close to his side, hanging onto him like a life line. Though she was fast asleep.
KetlinNarris: Cedric stared at her for a moment. She was a few years younger than him, it looked, and she wore clothes like a foreigner. Yet, she acted as if she knew him or trusted him for some reason.
He didn't remmeber her at all. He only remmebered being kidnapped, though he didnt look to be held captive any longer. The room they were in was too nice, and belonged to the girl beside him somehow.
Carefully, he tried to disentangle himself from her without waking her up. The more he could find out about where he was before he had to speak to anyone, the better.
mootascara: She woke rather suddenly when he moved to leave. She sat up straight, her hands folded in her lap and grey eyes watching him intently.
KetlinNarris: Cedric spoke softly, "Hello, Miss. Could you tell me where I am?" he looked her full in the eye, without fear. He guessed she was high status, but after all, he was a prince.
mootascara: "Home," she answered him quietly, her voice sounding ill used.
KetlinNarris: "You're home?" he asked more carefully.
mootascara: "Home," she replied again, the look in her eyes clear she ment his as well.
KetlinNarris: Responding to that couldn't possibly be the best thing to do. "And who are you?" he asked very, very politely, smiling friendly-like.
mootascara: "Your's," this could be taken one of two ways, but her tone didn't leave his servant an option. She didn't smile, infact, she'd not smiled yet in all this time.
KetlinNarris: "What is your name?
KetlinNarris: "
mootascara: "Mena"
KetlinNarris: He nodded, then considered his next move. Physically, he'd been careful not to make any sudden moved and had not even stood up yet. "What do we do now?"
mootascara: "Live..." she trailed off, sounding as though she wasn't sure it was a very good idea, but would entertain it for now.
mootascara: She got up from the bed and went over a darkwood vanity. From the drawer she pulled a dagger and a bottle of pills. She brought them over to him, and let him choose which he wished to use.
KetlinNarris: He took them both from her and tucked the dagger in his belt, then took the pills dry. "Thank you." I will find out who put me here, as soon as I find out where here is. They deserve to die. Perhaps I'll kill them with this very dagger... but for now I will simply survive long enough to do it.
mootascara: "you are different..."
KetlinNarris: "From whom, lady?" he asked. His polite manners were there, but they too were different from other men: they held no fear, appealing to the respect humanity deserves rather than the respect of a worldly position.
mootascara: "..the others..." she slured her words, almost sounding drunk though not quite. All her words had been this way so far.
KetlinNarris: "I hope it pleases you," he told her with sincerity. There is something wrong with this one: I neither wish to torment her nor do I wish to incure heedless rath.
mootascara: "..others are punished..." she was undecided what exactly to make of him yet. Any of the other men would be at her feet in gratitued for her even looking at them, never mind bringing them home... yet he intrigued her... he was..different..
KetlinNarris: "I rather intend not to be punished." Hope, you should have said hope. "I hope not to be. Who would punish me?"
mootascara: She sat beside him on the bed, half leaning over him, her nose inches from his. "You're misstresss.."
KetlinNarris: "That would be you," he guess rather quickly, dreading the concept very much.
mootascara: "Smart boy..." she made an attempt at a smile, though like her room, the pretty was dark and sad.
KetlinNarris: "I'm glad you think so. Can I get you anything?" If she lets me out of this room, I am GONE.
mootascara: She shook her head no and leaned back so she was sitting straight again. Her gaze saddened seeing the look in his eyes. "You wish to leave...?"
KetlinNarris: He smiled. Wonderful, she's perceptive too. Well it's my fault for not taking better care of my expressions. I'll have to keep my thoughts to myself. "You don't want me to leave, do you?"
mootascara: She shook her head no again.
KetlinNarris: "But I want to see where we live... no matter."
mootascara: She waved her hand around the room, alowing him to explore what was not locked.
KetlinNarris: Great. I don't think I can stand this much longer. But let's see, I have a dagger for now... and I'm allowed to explore the room. Great. He stood up and checked every corner of the room, making note of anything that might prove useful later.
mootascara: There was a window, though it was too high up to go out. Odd objects were about the room, an old decapitated doll asleep under a pretty blanket in a brass swinging cradle. Some papers with a strange script on them. And a ring of keys.
KetlinNarris: "What do these keys open?" he asked without picking them up.
mootascara: "Box," she pointed to a large chest in the corner, and an old egyption like surcofigus (sp?) looking one beside it.
KetlinNarris: He left the keys where they were and stood up straight in front of her bed, facing her, his right arm behind his back.
mootascara: "...you are.. different.. then otheres.." She looked up at him, her lower lids half closing her eyes causing her iris' to look like two grey sunsets.
KetlinNarris: "So are you."
KetlinNarris: I will escape.
mootascara: "I am no different," her eyes flashed angrily. "I am alone."
KetlinNarris: "I have never seen anyone wear those clothes before," he pointed out, shifting the focus from her to her clothes, which he reasoned was something she had less control over.
mootascara: "All sisters wear such.."
KetlinNarris: "Have you ever seen my clothes before?"
mootascara: She shook her head no.
KetlinNarris: "What are you going to do with me?"
mootascara: "Keep you.. "
mootascara: "..if mother lets me..."
KetlinNarris: "What happens if you cant keep me?"
mootascara: "Mother will kill you or give you to my sister.."
KetlinNarris: my best chance is before her mother sees to me. He sat down next to her. "Tell me about yourself," he requested.
mootascara: "No... you must not ask such things boy... no.." Her back straightend and hands went to cover her face.
KetlinNarris: "Why not? I want to know more about you," he tested. D*mmit if she won' t tell me anything I'm veritably screwed as far as trying to trick her.
mootascara: "Because you are male," she looked to him between her fingers.
KetlinNarris: It did not occur to Cedric to make a snide comment about the sexes, but a lot of other things did occur to him. His mind was working fast: he was used to thinking about policies and etiquette, but at those he had been quick. "I only want to know because you are pretty," he told her.
KetlinNarris: (you like his response?)
mootascara: (lol yes)
KetlinNarris: (thanks ^_^ )
mootascara: "You lie..." her hands dropped from her face to her lap, one hand lingereing at the end of her listless brown hair.
KetlinNarris: He smiled kindly at her, that spark of intelligence still there. It was possible that spark would always make him look like he was plotting. "I'm not. You are pretty, and all I know is your name."
mootascara: "I am not pretty... I am ugly.. mother sais so."
KetlinNarris: There must be a way to convince her she can trust me. "Men have different tastes sometimes," he said gently. "We think a lot of women are pretty, especially the ones we like." I suppose that one counts as a lie, implying that I like her, but in love and war there's always war.
mootascara: "Men do not like women... men are just necesity..."
KetlinNarris: His eyes widened: he couldn't help it. He had heard of the affects of slavery on both the slaves and the owners, but he had hardly believed it could still exist. He believed evil still existed, yes, but... I must be a long way from home indeed! "I like women," he tried gently. Maybe if he isolated himself from other men in this manner, she would be more inclined to believe him.
mootascara: "You... you should't... you... shouldn't..." She turned from him curling up on her bed facing the wall away from him.
KetlinNarris: "You picked me up because you like me, didnt you?" Surely she can't deny that women desire, being a woman herself.
KetlinNarris: (mh I found a song for Kevin)
mootascara: (oh?)
KetlinNarris: (yeah. Through the Window. REO Speedwagon)
mootascara: (ahh)
KetlinNarris: (I can show you some of the lyrics later)
mootascara: "They would have killed you.." she stared blankly at the wall. ..why was he asking so many questions? Why was he different..? Why didn't she just put him in his place...?
mootascara: (sure)
KetlinNarris: He decided not to push the compassion issue. "What do you want with me?"
mootascara: "You look nice," as if that should be enough.
KetlinNarris: That reason is sure to lead to nothing but ill in the future. "Thankyou."
mootascara: She suddenly sat up rolling from the bed onto her feet. "I must go to mother.." She pulled the key to the door from her shirt and unlocked it, stepping out and closing it behind her. The lock clicked shut again moments after it closed.
KetlinNarris: (is there a chair in the room?)
mootascara: (yes)
mootascara: (by the vanity)
KetlinNarris: (silly questions, thanks ^_^) He sat in the chair by the vanity, not particularly wanting to sit on her bed again. The window is no good, and so far I have not done so well talking her into trusting me. I refuse to wait around when I can further my escape, but right now I see no way. I might die of hunger if I managed it now, anyway. So far my only plan is to stay away from her mother: it seems her oddness keeps her from disciplining me as much as her mother might. And second, to seize any obvious oportunities. Now, as to who kidnapped me....
Starting with the servant he knew had drugged him, Cedric went through a list on enemies and friends in his head, then through the list of nearby countries.
mootascara: Half an hour later the door unlocked and opend, Mena entered back in with two other women. They resembled Mena in shape, though they were much prettier then she was. The eldest eyed him over critically. "So this is the male you finaly decided to claim? I must say Mena... you do have odd tastes. But I suppose that's expected, concidering who you are..." She spoke down to Mena, like she were little more then a male herself.
"You, boy, come here.." she ordered Cedric.
KetlinNarris: Cedric stood up and walked over to her, arm behind his back in his usual posture. He was in no especially hurry to do so, and ended up to be a bit taller than all three women.
mootascara: "Spread your arms boy."
KetlinNarris: He did, watching her eyes as she spoke and not even glancing at his right hand, which was missing three fingers: the pinky and the one next to it. The fingers had been cut off, but so long ago that the bones and muscles of the other fingers had grown considerably more, and it almost looked as if he was only born with three fingers.
mootascara: The two women eyed him over, moving around him and inspecting him. The middle sister opening his mouth to check his teeth. The older one paused at his hand looking to Mena credulously. "You would pick one with a flaw.." She sighed looking to the other sister who shrugged noncommitally. "We will speak with mother and see what she sais Mena.. Until then you make sure he doesn't leave your room.."
The two sister left, Mena closing and locking the door behind them. The key dissapearing back under her shirt as she rested her forhead against the wood of the door.
KetlinNarris: Cedric let his hands drop. "Mena, would you let your mother kill me or would you let me go?"
mootascara: "Let you go...?" She looked to him, the idea compleatly foreign to her.
KetlinNarris: "Will you fight to keep me?"
mootascara: She nods.
KetlinNarris: His stomach growled
mootascara: "Hungry boy..?"
KetlinNarris: "Yes I am."
mootascara: "..I will get you food..." She turned back to the door and unlocked it, slipping out and locking it again. Ten minuts latter she returned, a young man bringing in a tray of food and setting it on a table before leaving, the door being locked behind him.
KetlinNarris: Cedric sat down at her vanity and ate. It was amazing how fast he could eat and still keep most of the manners he had been taught regarding the process, and lucky for him for any faster might have made him sick. How long did they keep me out that I'm this hungry?\mootascara: Mena sat down on the edge of her bed again, watching him quietly.
KetlinNarris: He finished and looked back at her. "What do you expect of me?"
mootascara: "Companionship..."
KetlinNarris: "...What sort?"
mootascara: There was more then one sort of companion? Her face turned puzzled, trying to fathom what exactly he ment.
KetlinNarris: "How?" he rephrased.
mootascara: "To stay..to talk to.. to play with.." She thought it had been apparent, but she remembered that he was not like the others.. he was strange.. different. Though not different like her...
KetlinNarris: "I've talked a lot. I don't know what else to talk about."
mootascara: "Not talk all the time.." silly boy...
KetlinNarris: "Then what?" he insisted, wanting her to do something for once.
mootascara: "To be." she shrugged faintly. "Just be.. live.. like a bird in a cage.. pretty to look at.. like a cat.. soft and playfull... like a dog .. obediant.. is this not enough?"
KetlinNarris: "No," he told her, his voice pronouncing the word like a hard, unchangable fact. "I'm more than that. Even my pets are more than that sometimes."
mootascara: "No..?" her eyes changed colors slightly as she stood up, she paced over to him, looking up angrily. "You do not tell me no boy. you do not!"
KetlinNarris: "I just did, Miss."
mootascara: She back handed him, her eyes snapping at his defiance. "Some die for such insulance."
KetlinNarris: "Where I was born, I could kill you for slapping me. But I wouldn't. Do you understand?"
mootascara: "Where you were born does not matter!" Her grey eyes welled up with tears. "Why you were born does not matter! How you were born does not matter! Nothing matters but that you are male. You are subserviant to us... you.. you are obediant to us.. you.." her body shook with a silent sob. "you... must not be so different. you... you must not."
KetlinNarris: "I'm sorry," he apologized, really meaning it. If he could open her eyes to the real world her pain would eventually disapear. "What do you want me to do? You must tell me because I do not know."
mootascara: Her body convulsed again and she lay her head softly against his chest, her arms curled tight aginst her own. Her throat too tight for her to talk just yet. She didn't know what she wanted him to do..she couldn't put words to it. ... she wanted him to love her, but what was love?
KetlinNarris: He put his arms around her shoulders. This doesn't help me any, his mind grumbled at him. I want out. I'll never be able to live like this. Every second will be torture, contemplating and trying to escape. "I could take you to a beautiful place where you might be happier," he suggested. "I could tell you where it is, and you could take us there."
mootascara: "no..," she sniffled. "We are lost... we can never go home.."
KetlinNarris: "Don;t you have the power to visit any place you want?" he pushed.
mootascara: "In this city I can.."
KetlinNarris: "You can't leave?"
mootascara: She shook her head no against him with a small sniff.
KetlinNarris: He rubbed her back with his left hand. Focus on the more immediate problems. "I have some tricks I can do....maybe you've never seen them before. I can even perform them for your family if it will make them think more of you."
mootascara: The two grey eyes turned up to look at him,"Tricks...?"
KetlinNarris: "Sword tricks."
mootascara: "You fight?"
KetlinNarris: "I can fight," he ammended carefully. "With a sword, from a horse."
mootascara: "On foot?"
KetlinNarris: "I'm better on horse." I hope she's not thinking anything horrible.
mootascara: "Oh.." her head came back to rest against his chest. "Can't give you horse... not yet..."
KetlinNarris: "What do you do with men who can fight?"
mootascara: "They battle in the arena sometimes.. or are body guards."
KetlinNarris: "If I am your body gard, I can always be close to you."
mootascara: She blinked, inwardly liking that possibility. "You can still be my companion.."
KetlinNarris: "I can be both."
mootascara: She nodded, her arms slowly wrapping around him.
KetlinNarris: He continued to hold her, but hoped she wouldnt make any more moves. Or demands, rather. Right now he didnt have to worry about his moral code, because he wasn't violating it, but there were some things he would not do. "Do you want me to show you any of my sword skills? I have some skill with most weapons."
mootascara: "I do not have a sword for you.. not right now..Mother still has to let us keep you...
mootascara: "
KetlinNarris: "If I show her my tricks, wont she like me more?"
mootascara: "Don't know..mother scares me.." She clung a little tighter to him, as she had before, almost like a lifeline.
KetlinNarris: "Sssssssshhhh, calm down. What ever she decides, I'm here with you until she does." What the hell else am I supposed to say? I don't want to be here, I have no control over her mother, and I need to get back home to attend to more personal affairs there. Regis will take the throne if I'm gone!
mootascara: He was so different... It almost felt like she didn't have to be incharge when he was there. But that was stupid.. of course she had to be incharge.. he was male, she wasn't... With a sigh she let go of him moving away to the window. She peeked out, hiding from veiw behind the dark curtain, her shoulders slouched sadly.
KetlinNarris: "Dont I have any chance to convince them to keep me? All they wanted to do before was look at me."
mootascara: "Mother must decide.. they are speaking to mother.."
KetlinNarris: "Why doesnt your mother ask you?"
mootascara: She turned looking to him, an odd glint in her eyes. "Why would mother ask me anything boy...? I am different... alone.."
KetlinNarris: "But you are still a woman."
mootascara: She turned back to the window, not responding to that one. She was a woman yes.. but she was different.. Her mother was ashamed of her for what she was..
KetlinNarris: "I'm sorry. There's nothing I can do for you unless you think of a way."
mootascara: "We must wait boy..."
KetlinNarris: "We are waiting. Aren't you bored?"
mootascara: She looked to him and shook her head no.
KetlinNarris: "Will you please call me Cedric?"
mootascara: Just then there was a knock at the door, so Mena moved to unlock it. The woman out side, on of the sisters from before told her something quietly then went off, Mena locking the doo once more. She still did not smile, but her eyes held a faint light. "Mother has agreed.. I can keep you."
KetlinNarris: "Good. Are you going to call me Cedric, please Miss?"
mootascara: "I will."
KetlinNarris: "Thankyou." I suppose in some ways I am lucky.
mootascara: "what is it like... where you were born...?" She sat on the edge of her bed again, her grey eyes watching him intently as she fiddle with the end of her limp brown hair.
KetlinNarris: "You won't be able to imagine it, but I like it there," he warned her, putting both his hands in his lap.
mootascara: She pulled her legs up under her, her back straight.
KetlinNarris: "I live in a big place made of marble on the slope of a hill. The hill looks out unto the city of T'thar, but between my house and the city there is a lot of green land, which trees and flowers and horse stables and that sort of thing in it."
mootascara: So far she could imagin it just fine
KetlinNarris: He paused as he considered what else to tell her that she might believe, or whether to worry about it at all. "It's very beautiful. My father was king of the country, and I was about to take the throne myself."
mootascara: "You? Throne? Does not your matriarc object to this?"
KetlinNarris: "The throne is rightfully mine, if I wish to take it."
mootascara: She frowned slightly, her lips pursing gently in thought. A male leading a country... ohmy.
KetlinNarris: "Promise me you won't tell any one else. They won't like me if they know."
mootascara: She lookes to him, giving no such promis, but she would not tell. She barely spoke to anyone else.
KetlinNarris: "Well... where I live men and women are more equal." They are equal, but I don't want to overwhelm her. "And you would be treated with more respect, and helped with your differences-- the ones your mother doesn't like."
mootascara: "...loved?"
KetlinNarris: "I can't make your mother like you. But if we make it there I can introduce you to people-- men and women-- who would care about you and help you with any problems you have..."
mootascara: "Mother will never love me.. I do not want to go anywhere else I will not be loved.." She had yet to know exactly what love was, but she knew she wanted it. It was a dream for her, something she saw so many people have, but her life greatly lacked.
KetlinNarris: "These people will care for you very much," he promised.
mootascara: "..I can't take you there."
KetlinNarris: "Maybe we can go later," he encouraged her softly, lowering his eyes so that nothing in them would disturb her. He knew she couldnt handle the fire of his disposition: how much he wanted to get back, what sort of things he would have to contend with there, and how much he didn't want to be here. How angry he was.
