History: When Lex was a child his parents took him into the woods. He can't quite remember why, but he thinks they were moving to another villiage and simply did not follow the path there. The problem with walking off the path, however, was that they entered the Dark Elf territory. Lex admits that it is possible they meant to, but since you do NOT mess with dark elves-- especially if you're human and have no magical powers like Lex's parents-- he sincerly doubts that.
There was an elf there by the name of Kevellen, a name vaguely known everywhere as associated with evil and with power. White elfs had been murmering for a few years that there was such a dark elf, one that was a danger, but this knowledge was only spread to the human communities through rumor because the White Elfs did not want to spread panic about something that might jsut be another Dark elf, and that the humans could not help with anyway.
Kevellen had, in fact, been training himself to use his full power; he was born with a power-ability of 10 out of 10, as few elfs, White or Dark, are. He studied the Dark elf lores and the languages of old, old legends and all that good stuff. But most of his studying had been in the realms of the Dark elfs, and he was ready to search further. So, over these years that the White elfs had felt him grow stronger, he had also been getting nearer.
It was not long before Lex's parents crossed his path. They had only spent the night in the Dark elf forest, and had just discovered where they were-- had even begun to turn around-- but as they did, behind them they saw a darker shadow across a suddenly dark path in a suddenly darker forest (not that the dark elf forest had been that cheery to begin with). "Do you realize where you are?" a whisper, almost subconscious in nature, asked them from underneath Kevellen's hood.
"You are dead," it finished, and without even a demonic laugh, he raised his hand and threw Lex' father into a near by tree. His father grunted and slumped to the floor. In front of him, Kevellen slowly killed both his parents, one at a time with spells of higher and higher levels, and higher and higher pain. As young as he was, Lex didn't know a person could be in that much pain, could survive that long. The figure turned to him and threw back his hood, evil eyes narrowing in pleasure at the little boy before him. He gave a slight grin, raised his hand, and Lex's body was wracked with pain, mounting pain. He could feel the spell reaching into his viens like a supernatural spiderweb of power that burned like lightening before it even started the spell's work. It spread across every limb, across every inch of his body. Lex thought he was going to break apart, and he wished for all the world that he could black out, but he did not.
He knew he was going to die.
Abruptly the world went quiet and, released from the spell momentarily, Lex fell to his knees. Kevellen, with all of his high-level magic, had attracted the atention of a small but elite fleet of elfs. At the time, Kevellen was not strong enough to dismiss them with one spell, and the Dark Elf was distracted from Lex entirely. Lex passed out. When he woke up again, he found himself in a tent in the middle of a small White-elf colony only a day's walk away from a large human/white-elf city. A family of white elfs in town adopted him, not knowing that he was still encased by the spell, with every contact of magic-- any magic-- used by the spell to cause him pain...

Possession:
Mental Possesion (by Kevellen): In order to be possessed mentally, Kevellen must use magic on Lex, but not a considerable amount: ie, it hurts Lex but it is not difficult at all for Kevellen. Kevellen does have enough power to possess Lex mentally in any situation, although Lex can make it difficult enough so that Kevellen would have to kill him (by the use of too much magic). Usually, though, Lex 'gives himself up' so that the hurt to him is minimal. Compared to the other things he goes through, and especially when he 'gives himself up,' being possessed in this way/to this degree is more harmful in what Kevellen actually uses it for than in how much it hurts Lex physically. When Kevellen possess Lex in this way, he controls his actions through his mental processes (by making him 'want' to do it) rather than directly.
Physical Possession: Physical possession takes more power and therefore hurts Lex more, but it can be convenient if Kev wants to give him 'superhuman strength,' make him work beyond his normal endurance, or that sort of thing. Physical possession is usually aided by an object-- such as Lex's cerimonial dagger-- in order to reduce the risk on Lex's life. When such an object is used, the power is routed through the object first instead of directly through Lex. Otherwise, the possession might work until Kevellen stopped, and then Lex would drop over dead.
Magical Possession: Magic is neither purely physical nor purely mental, and so using Lex or any other non-magic (or even magic) human being for magic is best done if both the mind and body of that person are possessed. Other than that magical possession is somewhat of a misnomer because you cannot possess someone's magical abilities, but only a) force magic into a person or b) take magic away from a person. In Lex's case, there is no magic to take away, and so if Kevellen wants to use Lex for magic he must either force magic directly through Lex, which has the highest chance of killing Lex, or use an object such as Lex's dagger. This is why Kevellen usually uses another form of 'possession' or uses and object to channel through. One other thing he can do is use the magic that goes into the spell hanging over Lex's head. This stops the spell from directing that magic back at Lex, but it does not stop the magic from using Lex as a lightning rod to get there in the first place, and so Lex finds no real relief.

Appearance/clothing: Lex is tall and lanky/gangly for his age, meaning that he does not appear to be strong but is still sometimes imposing because his height etc. He is not, in actuality, very strong. His skin is very pale. He is a very practical person who spends most of his time in the woods, and so his clothes reflect that.
Jacket: approximately waist length so that it does no hinder him in sitting, with long sleeves. Warm. Loop-button style of closure with overlapping sides and a collar. Hidden inside pockets. Sleevs may go past his wrists. Colored browns and blacks to resemble treebark. Very nondescript with the impression of straight vertical line in overall form.
Pants: Long pants not below tops of shoes (or tucked in). Loose, comfortable, to enable movement and to help insulate. Most likely black. Also acentuates his height with vertical lines.
Shoes: black, probably leather. for much walking. Knee-high.
          Undershirt: black, t-shirt style.
Items: hang bag, slung over shoulder while walking. Small and extremely transportable. Ceremonial dagger inside. Food inside, etc.
