KetlinNarris: Orin looked up quickly from his horse. Someone was coming, and fast. The forest around him seemed alive in anticipation, the silence of the animals making her footsteps seem louder as she came within hearing range. Before she could reach the unseen border of his home, he stepped out from behind the berry bushes he had been gathering at, and stared down at the intruder, watching her with a dissaproving, unrelenting stare as she approached.
gingerale1313: (Darn, you're good at writing...)"Wah!" She stopped dead in her tracks, for minute, then went to run around him.
KetlinNarris: His moved his horse in her way, and shouted coarsely, "Stop! What do you think you're doing?" (how old is she?)
gingerale1313: (and my sister likes your character's name. Appearently, it's her nickname at school. "Except it's spelled with two "r"s", she says.) (Oh, she's... well, I'm guessing 15-18.) "I'm- gettting away, from them!" She twisted around to point behind her, and tripped.
KetlinNarris: Orin snatched his head up to look into the forest behind her, but he didnt see anything yet. His eyes became distant for a moment, but then he looked at her, reached down and grabbed her by the scruff of her shirt, and asked. "Who and why? Spit it out."
gingerale1313: She managed to glare up at him while struggling to get away, "Just leave me alone! I'm not going to be caught again."
KetlinNarris: "Fool girl! Just tell me!" he raged in response.
gingerale1313: "The people from that town over there. Now let me go! They're not going to get that poker on me again." she raised her hands to slap at him. They were covered with some nasty burns, along with her legs
KetlinNarris: He smiled nervously, the kind without any warmth. "Why?"
gingerale1313: She was still glaring daggers at him, "Why should it matter to you? Let me go!! Argh!"
KetlinNarris: His grip was relentless. "You're not coming on my land without an answer!" he shouted. (Who's chasing her and are they close?)
gingerale1313: (Okay, she went into a town, and broke into a building because they were not watering the plants enough. she's weird like that. Anyway, they athorities got her, she fought at them, and there was some property damage, and she knocked an officer out. She's different looking (what with green hair and such), they are closed minded idiots, so they decided to teach her a lesson, with a hot poker. then she escaped, they chased her, but they arn't too fast, so the town people can't be seen yet.)
gingerale1313: "Fine, I saved some plants, they didn't like it, now they're after me. Now let me go!"
KetlinNarris: "You had better be telling the truth," he growled, then hauled her with effort unto the bare back of his horse, holding her on in front while he guided his horse into the bushes with another. "Be quiet."
gingerale1313: She rolled her eyes, "Fine". (Think grumpy teenager tantrum)
KetlinNarris: He glared at her as if they were personal, long-time enemies. The forest around them grew even quieter. "Maybe they arent so good at tracking," he whispered.
gingerale1313: Eventually they heard some shouts, of "This way!" No, this way!" "You dont' know anything, John, it's that way!" Where is she?" Some angry villagers came into view, waving farming implements and such.
KetlinNarris: Orin closed his eyes. His grip around her waist was very loose, as if he took care to make it so, but his expression was hard as rock. He was hoping very hard they would go away, or else he or the forest would have to do something drastic.
gingerale1313: (should they run off, or find them?)
KetlinNarris: (hopefully run off)
KetlinNarris: (you know, so that he doesnt have to kill them)
gingerale1313: (okay then) It seemed that the townspeople might actually go the right way. "Hey, you guys, she's not that way, there's some sort of tracks over here..." "Oh, tracks!" "Yeah, that way!" And they dissappeared.
gingerale1313: (I meant to put in a "But stupidity prevailed, and they went off in the wrong direction." or something like that.)
KetlinNarris: (haha) Orin sighed in relief, then gave her a penetrating look. Now he could see her injuries close up, but he didnt say anything to her at all. He seemed to still be listening to something.
gingerale1313: "What?"
KetlinNarris: "Hmn?"
gingerale1313: "I said, "What?""
KetlinNarris: "Are you sick?" he interrupted
gingerale1313: She shook her head, blinked a couple of times, shook her haed again, then leaned over the side of the horse, and threw up.
KetlinNarris: The bay danced nervously, and Orin's grip around her tightened. Silentely, but with a softer look, he walked them in the direction she had been running, straight towards his home.
gingerale1313: She wiped her mouth on her sleeve, and muttered, "sorry."
KetlinNarris: "Be quiet, fool," he told her in an affectionate tone.
gingerale1313: She just gave him a withering look, trying hard not to smile, or fall off the horse.
KetlinNarris: He brought her to a brown, tent-like structure that was barely big enough for the both of them.
gingerale1313: "Is this where you live?"
KetlinNarris: He lowered her off the horse into his arms. He wasnt used to carrying entire people, but he managed to get her into the tent unto layered blankets that served as a bed. "When did they do this to you?"
gingerale1313: "Last night." She ran her fingers lightly over the burns on her arms, "Ow, ow, ow... I think I'll stop doing that..."
KetlinNarris: He sat down beside her, lifting a blanket over a pile of books and other things, to pull out a water basin. He pulled a cloth from somewhere else. "I dont know if I can help you with those, but you should sleep."
gingerale1313: "No, how am I supposed to go... to sleep with these," big yawn, "bur..ns....."She went out like a light.
KetlinNarris: (hehehehehe)
KetlinNarris: (hmnnnnnnn)
KetlinNarris: When she woke up, twilight of the next day was just overcoming the land. It was a bit darker than that in the tent, of course, but she could tell there was no one with her. Only a few stacks covered to keep the dust off.
gingerale1313: "um..."
KetlinNarris: The tent flap was pulled aside. "are you feeling better?" he asked, not surprised at all that she was awake.
gingerale1313: "Uh, yeah, more or less.."
KetlinNarris: "So, yes then?"
gingerale1313: "What?"
KetlinNarris: "Well are you or arent you? You sounded unsure."
gingerale1313: "Uh, half way? The burns still hurt, but I dont' think I'm going to puke again. Speaking of puking, do you... um, have some water?"
KetlinNarris: He inclined his head slightly in one direction, towards the bowl beside her. It was a bowl, but the water looked clean.
gingerale1313: "oh, thank you!" She drank some. "Ah, water..."
KetlinNarris: He crossed his arms. "Do you have some place to stay?"
gingerale1313: She put down the bowl. "Um, there's the woods."
KetlinNarris: "No?" he sounded dissapointed.
gingerale1313: "I don't have a fixed place of residence..." She glanced around the tent nervously.
KetlinNarris: He snorted. "Great. You probably cant even stand."
gingerale1313: "No." She got a determined look on her face, and took a step... and colapsed back on the blankets.
KetlinNarris: He walked up to her. "Dont you know when to quit?"
gingerale1313: "Hmph." She glared at the tent wall. "Well... do you have any aloe?"
KetlinNarris: "Any what?"
gingerale1313: "Aloe. Aloe Vera." She looked back up at him, "I mean, I hate hurting a plant, but these burns hurt."
KetlinNarris: He went outside the tent for a moment, then came back with a basket of aloe. "Im not sure what you're talking about, but I got this for you."
gingerale1313: She actually smiled, "It's good for burns. I'm pretty sure..." (I have to go. Dinner. I will be back. okay, so, be back in a little bit.)
KetlinNarris: (okietay)
gingerale1313: (I"m back. I was given permission to eat in my room.)
KetlinNarris: (coolness)
gingerale1313: (mmhm)
KetlinNarris: (hey, its my turn! imagine that!)
KetlinNarris: He gave her a funny look. "Do you need anything else?"
gingerale1313: (*laughs*)
gingerale1313: She started putting the aloe on her burns, "After awhile.... Could.... you help me to get outside?"
KetlinNarris: "Why?"
gingerale1313: "I need to get some sun."
KetlinNarris: Silence. "If you insist."
gingerale1313: "I'm sorry. I cant' just stay without light; I'll get sick."
KetlinNarris: "The sun is setting," he told her carefully.
gingerale1313: A shocked look came over her face, "What?"
KetlinNarris: "It's night...." he seemed to be considering her health more seriously.
gingerale1313: "Oh... Well, I've been through cloudy days. I- I should be fine..."
KetlinNarris: He stepped up to her.
gingerale1313: "Yes?"
KetlinNarris: He paused for a long time, then asked slowly, "What is it you need? I can try to get you anything.... But I know you need rest still. What is it about the sun?"
gingerale1313: She concentrated on applying the aloe to her burns. "If I tell you, you'll just throw me out, like everyone else."
