KetlinNarris: Mara horse suddenly stopped and looked behind them.
MootaScara: She frowned, looking back, her chopped red hair blowing lightly about her face. It was odd that the horse would stop without her telling it to...
KetlinNarris: (does it matter where they are?)
MootaScara: (not really. she hangs out in forests and castles and by lakes and in deserts and what ever. but if it's a horse from the stable...)
KetlinNarris: The trail back to the stables looked normal: the trees were still and the sun was still shining. But her horse snorted and kept looking back until they saw a person dart from between two trees. THe horse faced forward again and took off.
MootaScara: "Woah!" She gripped onto the horse so as not to fall off, taking a tighter rein. She focused where the horse was going so as not to be swept off by a branch while she worked on getting it under control. "Easy Sugar... easy," she spoke to it softly while urdging it to slow down.
KetlinNarris: The thing behind them gave up stealth and crashed through the forest after them. It looked, from what little they saw, to be human, but it aws definately catching up even as Sugar went into a canter and leapt into--
For an instant they were running through a different place entirely. There was no such thing as color or sight, only form and the feeling as of strong winds. Then they fell as if the bottom of a cloud had sucked them through.
They landed hard in a room of smooth dark, seemless stone, three shifty-looking gaurds, and their scruffy-looking prisoner with his hands against the edges of a stone doorframe and the entire hallway behind him collapsed.
MootaScara: Mara's green eyes were wide with all that she'd just been through, seeing the guards and being in a strange place, her hand went to her sword instinctivly, her red hair settled wildly about her face giving her the impression of some wild creature from beyond, which in all resonability, she very likely might be.
KetlinNarris: The gaurds, who ahd been intent on recapturing their prisoner, started back from her, then drew their own swords. They looked terrified, although that hadnt been entirel from her sudden appearance. The stone around them shuddered subtly.
The prisoner snarled angrily, although half the expression was hidden by the large wrap around his head that covered his eyes. "Bloody cowards! Fight me now!" he yelled in a strained voice, holding onto the stone as if for support.
MootaScara: Mara's sword rang dangerously as it came from it's sheath and pointed it to the prisoner. "You 'eard the lad gents, fight 'im... or I'll tear ya limb from limb..." The green eyes narrowed dangerously. This lady was no stranger to warfare of any kind, and it was apparent from her baring she meant what she said.
KetlinNarris: THe prisoner didn't have a sword, nor did he look able to hold one. THe gaurds ignored her statement and yelled down a seperate hall, "Intruder! Backup!"
MootaScara: "..bloody cowards..." Tightening the rien she kicked her heals into the horses side, she was a gentle rider, but demanded obediance when a fight was up. Her sword raise high and seated firmly in the saddle she urged the horse to rear then head for the nearest guard.
KetlinNarris: IT did so with a mighty neigh, charging with full force at the gaurd and nearly crushing it. A confused groan signified the prisoner's slide to the floor.
KetlinNarris: (the gaurds arent really trained in combat)
MootaScara: (pitty for them... lol)
MootaScara: She directed the horse to the prisoner and sheathed her sword, the horse between them and the guards. Slidding from the saddle she hoisted him up onto the back of the horse then hopped back up herself. "We'll get you out of here lad.. just hang on.." She then drew her sword again and turned for the way out.
KetlinNarris: His mouth hung slack in surprise and confusion, but he leaned against sugar's neck and held on very tightly.
Surprisingly, they were very close to the xit. So close that the gaurds running towards them didnt catch up until they were already outside, where strange looking, black canines the size of puppy saint bernards greeted them: a pack of five, with the leader being the size of a grown saint bernard.
MootaScara: Gripping her sword loosely she pulled in tight around the man against Sugars neck. "Hyea!" she hurged Sugar to plow through them.
KetlinNarris: Sugar did, altough he wasnt very happy about it. When the dogs lept at them, they bounced back of the air and the group was through in seconds, charging through the woods with only the pack behind them.
"Souless," the man she'd saved hissed. "Kill the biggest one!"
MootaScara: She looked back over her shoulder her eyes narrowing. Growling she pulled Sugar around tight and headed straight for the largest, her sword singing for it's neck.
KetlinNarris: It lept at her as if it could clear mountains with that leap, its intelligent black eyes locking with hers as it did. The thing wasn't immune to her sword, though, and lept straight into it like it'd never seen a sword before.
KetlinNarris: The others wimpered and headed back.
MootaScara: She swung her sword wide to remove most of the blood, if there was any, from her sword and brought it down into the creature again, the deadly tip penetraiting into where it's heart should be. Pulling her sword back she shook it again then turned Sugar back away from that place to find a spot far enough away it would be safe to dismount.
KetlinNarris: "Is it gone?" he asked, not aware of the dead body or the blood all over the grass.
MootaScara: "Yes," she said quietly, her eyes searching for a spot that suited her.
KetlinNarris: The man let out a tense breath, swivling his head as if he intended to look around through his bandages. He was as pale as death and poorly taken care of.
KetlinNarris: KetlinNarris: "Is it gone?" he asked, not aware of the dead body or the blood all over the grass.
MootaScara: "Yes," she said quietly, her eyes searching for a spot that suited her.
KetlinNarris: The man let out a tense breath, swivling his head as if he intended to look around through his bandages. He was as pale as death and poorly taken care of.
MootaScara: She soon found a spot that satisfied her and stopped Sugar. Dismounting she gently helped the man down from his back and settled him beneath a tree on some soft moss.
KetlinNarris: He didn't seem to have any strength with which to help the process, only enough to speak with awe, "Who are you?"
MootaScara: "You can call me Mara," she spoke to him softly, her irish accent lilting happily on the air. She sat back on her haunches after she had him settled, Sugars reins having been tossed round a tree branch. "Are your eyes bandaged ta keep you from seeing, or to protect them lad..?"
KetlinNarris: "To protect them," he said reluctantly. That's one way to put it anyway. "Mara... how did you two get here?"
MootaScara: "I'm not alltogether certain on that part..." she sighed looking to Sugar. "I was out for me morning ride and something spooked Sugar.. he bolted and we ended up with you and yer captors. They didn't take to kindly to me, so I figured I'd help you out a wee bit.."
KetlinNarris: "His name is sugar?"
MootaScara: She smiled half chuckling. "The children called him that becuase he is the color of Sugar." She smiled over at the horse,"and because 'es so sweet.."
KetlinNarris: "Well of course he's white. Don't you know?"
Sugar snorted.
MootaScara: "Don't I know what...," she looked back to the man puzzled.
KetlinNarris: "He's a unicorn..." The man sighed, distrought. "Isnt he?"
MootaScara: "Not that I'm aware off.." she looks back to Sugar.
KetlinNarris: Sugar snorts again. -Well, my secret's out I suppose,- "Sugar" said into their minds. MootaScara: She narrowed her eyes at Sugar good naturedly. "Sugar...you know.. you could have made life alot easier on yourself if youd let us know..." She looked back to the man. "Do you think you can make it..?"
KetlinNarris: "Of course I can," he said a bit gruffly. "We need out of here, don't we?"
MootaScara: "Aye, but you don't look to well."
KetlinNarris: -Let me see if I can do anything, but then we have to go.- Sugar stepped up to the man, sniffed him, and appeared to do nothing. MootaScara: Mara sighed, she'd travled with a unicorn once before. Sometimes they did nothing and look like they did nothing. And other times they looked like they did nothing but did much. ...and then there were the times when they looked like they did a bloody lot, but were just showing off... She chuckled and came to the man getting him back up and onto Sugars back, mounting up behind him. "So.. Sugar... would you prefer a different name....?"
KetlinNarris: This time he was completely limp. -My name is Goan. Thankyou for asking. Mara.-
MootaScara: Mara was glad for her strenght as a dragon knight, it made lifting bodies much easier. Seeing as Goan was no longer Sugar, and not just a horse, she hung onto the man. "Alright Goan, lead away."
KetlinNarris: -I can't take you with me if you're not on my back,- he said, sounding like a favorite grandfather.
MootaScara: (she mounted behind him)
KetlinNarris: (Psh. I didnt understand the unicorn comment then)
MootaScara: (lol, instead of taking the reins, she's gonna let him lead.)
KetlinNarris: *-Hold on tightly.- He trotted through the forest, looking for a place where he could get a good running start for the jump he needed. His ears flickered backwards in irritation, but after a few minutes he started running...
MootaScara: Mara hung on tightly to Goan and the man through this. She'd come to the decision, she wasn't too fond of traveling the way Goan travled. She opend her eyes looking to the small town. "Where are we Goan...?"
KetlinNarris: -I don't know,- he admitted in a rather candid fashion. -Looks nice enough.- This of course meant that there wasn't a war going on at that moment.
MootaScara: "As a matter of curiosity.. will I be able to get back home...?"
KetlinNarris: Goan started into a leisurely walk towards the miniscule villiage. -I suppose if you know where it is, and we find a map depicting it, we can go back.-
MootaScara: That sounded oh so reasuring... Carad would be worried about her, and a worried dragon wasn't good for it's surroundings. "uhm...Goan.. will my currency work here?"
KetlinNarris: -I may have lived a long time, but villiages and other human establishments come and go as the wind.-
MootaScara: She sighed watching the town as they approached. "Well at least I can hire myself out if me money doesn't work..."
KetlinNarris: -Isn't it made of metal? Humans love metals, though the metals don't always like it very much.- It would take the whole day to get there at the pace Goan was going.
MootaScara: "Aye Goan, it's made of metals.." We going to the village?
MootaScara: "*)
KetlinNarris: -If you want to,- he answered, keeping to the same pace.
MootaScara: "Well either we pick up pace or stop.. This lad needs rest."
KetlinNarris: -Isn't he resting right now?-
KetlinNarris: (hehe)
MootaScara: "He's out, but not resting."
KetlinNarris: -Oh, all right.- Goan sped up to a nice, even trot. Unlike a horse, his gate flowed as if they were flying, and was faster than a horse when he wanted it to be.
MootaScara: "Thank you.."
KetlinNarris: -Hmmmm hmmm hmm hmmm mhhhhh,- Goan hummed in a satisfied tune as well as non-stop.
MootaScara: Mara sighed and let him hum, Slipping from his back once they make it into town she takes the reins leading. Couldn't have people suspecting things when their allignment to Unicorns was unknown.. "hope you don't mind stables Goan... you'll probably end up there again."
KetlinNarris: Goan limited his voice to just her. -I won't mind. But expect you to update me on his health.-
MootaScara: She nodded, "of course." Her reply was a whisper. She lead them too the local in and secured Goan to the hitching post then dissapeared inside for a moment. She came back out and lead him to the stable, taking the man over her shoulders.
MootaScara: (will they take her money or skills?)
KetlinNarris: (uh, it's just a very small town. Probably her skills and not her money. Or her skills as a dishwasher :P)
MootaScara: (lol, she doesn't do dishes...)
KetlinNarris: (er) The man at the inn told her to ask the mayor, and told her where the mayor could be found not far away. He offered to hold the strange man on his couch while she did.
MootaScara: She put the man onto the couch, then went in search of the mayor
KetlinNarris: THe mayor was a short, jumpy man. "Yes? What do you want?"
MootaScara: Lady Mara stood calmly, her arms loose at her sides. "I was told ta come here, said you might have some use for my servises?"
KetlinNarris: "What services?"
MootaScara: "My sword, or diplomatic skills."
KetlinNarris: "Ask famer Nate. He's always having trouble with the wolfs and other mountain creatures. Unless you want to be a temporary police man."
MootaScara: "Doesn't matter to me, sir. I just need money. Where might I find this Nate."
KetlinNarris: HTe guy narrowed his eyes in thought. "You're good with that sword, eh? I'd rather have you as an officer. Yesterday a bunch of miscreants came into town and made trouble. I don't want that happening again if their friends come."
MootaScara: She nodded. "Alright then, Sir. I'll hang around to keep the peace for a while then. In exchange that my friend gets looked after and I get a place ta stay and some food."
KetlinNarris: "All right. I'll talk to the innkeeper." He did, and they got a room together.
MootaScara: Mara took the man up to the room settling him down. She let a doctor look after his wounds, she wasn't an expert there.
KetlinNarris: (is she in the room watching or what?)
MootaScara: She settled on the bed, watching.
MootaScara: (lol sorry)
KetlinNarris: (:P)
MootaScara: (the =her)
KetlinNarris: The woman bent over him, asking casually, "So what'd yall come from?" She started to unwrap the bandage around his eyes after tending to a few minor injuries elsewhere.
MootaScara: "Paranets I would suppose," she answered dryly in responce to 'what' instead of where.
KetlinNarris: "Paranets?" The bandage came off. THe skin underneath was flushed and scarred. The scars were mostly open wounds that covered where the man's eyes used to be. "It looks...um...clean..."
MootaScara: (lol parents...)
KetlinNarris: (ah)
MootaScara: Mara's nose wrinkled at the sight, poor lad... "Can you heal it..?"
KetlinNarris: "It's healing on it's own," she replied uncertainly. The poor girl was rather young and posessed no healing powers, only medical knowledge. "It's almost healed over already."
MootaScara: She nodded. "..take good care of 'im...'es been through a lot.. I'll be out checking over the town if you need me.. "She got up and left the room, heading outside.
KetlinNarris: The girl nodded nervously and watched her leave. (skip?)
MootaScara: (sure, where to)
KetlinNarris: (sometime when she's back and he's awake)
MootaScara: (alright. I'll bring her back then)
KetlinNarris: (wee!)
MootaScara: After her rounds of the town, finding no trouble she came back to the inn and up to the room. She quietly entered the room incase he was still asleep and flopped down on her bed staring up at the cieling.
KetlinNarris: His eyes were re-bandaged like before, with a wrap all the awy around his head. He looked a lot cleaner overall.
MootaScara: Mara turned her head looking to him."Aye Lad, just me."
KetlinNarris: "Who was that girl?" (just so you know, he's uh, 26)
MootaScara: (lol ok)
MootaScara: "She was the villiage doctor.."
KetlinNarris: "Fool girl must have drugged me. I don't see why that was necessary." Actually, that was Goan's work, and part of the healing process.
MootaScara: She smiled laughing softly. "Think you can blame Goan for that.."
KetlinNarris: "Who?"
MootaScara: "uhm, Sugar"
KetlinNarris: "So we're in a village. Far away from where we were, I suppose. Do you have any idea where we are now?"
MootaScara: "Not a clue actually.."
KetlinNarris: "At least I'm not the only one," he grumbled. "Damn! I'm sure you didn't need any of this any more than I did, and here we are in some villiage.
KetlinNarris: "
MootaScara: "There's probably a reason why we are here lad. Don't fret yourself too much.." she chuckeld again. "Or you'll start spouting smoke and cinders like Carad."
MootaScara: "Sit back down Lad.. we can't go anywhere just yet.."
KetlinNarris: He leaned against the bed carefully, as if hearing or feeling the full impact of her words. He climbed back in and huddled near the head, where the wall was. There didn't seem to be anything to say through is frustration.
MootaScara: "What happend to you back there..?"
KetlinNarris: "I lost my sight," he replied simply.
MootaScara: "Why, if I might ask."
KetlinNarris: He grit his teeth. "Because they're bloody fools. I also lost a lot of weight and a lot of time, and I intend to make them both up. Sometimes I forget how bad it is, is all. I feel like I can walk out of here, unless I think about it."
MootaScara: "You are strong lad, if not physically in sprit, and that will take you far..," she smiled, thought of another man she knew who was strong fliting through her mind. Though cheerful, the thought saddned her as well. For she'd not seen him in a long, long time.
KetlinNarris: "Yes, it's the spirit," he agreed, grabbing onto the idea that she'd understood so readily. "But as soon as I'm physically stong again..." his voice was quickly mounting towards rage, but he stopped it there.
MootaScara: "Calm yourself lad. Now is not the time for anger and revenge. You must rest and regain your strength. ..What is you name?"
KetlinNarris: "Orin R'Kashi, and I'm close to thirty, so please don't call me lad as if I weren't."
MootaScara: She chuckled. "To me Orin, you are yet a lad.."
KetlinNarris: "How old are you?" he asked carefully. I've got to get better at telling that from their spirits.
MootaScara: "Old then you," she said non-commitally. She was not quite at the point where she was proud of her 70 years. Though she looked, felt, sounded, and acted perhaps 28.
KetlinNarris: "Well I don't care. Call me Orin rather than lad."
MootaScara: "That was my intent Orin," she smiled leaning against the wall comfortable settled on her bed. "I had not known your name till this point."
KetlinNarris: "I hadn't thought to introduce myself," he admitted.
MootaScara: "You weren't fully coherant, it was to be expected."
KetlinNarris: "Wasn't I?" He thought back carefully, then shuddered at what his searching drudged up.
MootaScara: "Do not dwell on that Orin.. Memories can be cruel when visited un-neccisarily..." She sighed, she knew all to well what memories could do.
KetlinNarris: He gave her a sharp look. Or rather, he would have had he eyes and no bandage. "A few days and I leave. I should be ready by then. Are you coming with me?"
MootaScara: "If my duities here are finished, aye. I need to find my way home as well."
KetlinNarris: "Where did you live?"
KetlinNarris: (^,,^)
MootaScara: (muwahahah! ^,,^!)
MootaScara: "I live in the realm of the DragonKnights, at fairside castle."
KetlinNarris: "I don't think I can help you then. But I can find my place and maybe from there you'll know where you are. It's not far...I think."
MootaScara: "We shall see.. Goan took us far from where we started, so far as any of us know."
KetlinNarris: He smiled. "I know where to head."
MootaScara: "That is good then." She folded her arms behind her head. "For I am lost where to go without Carad.."
KetlinNarris: He nodded respectfully, refraining from questioning her. "I have a few maps where i live, and the such. You can have them when we get there."
MootaScara: "To look over them will suffice, I thank ye."
KetlinNarris: "I won't need them anymore."
MootaScara: She laughed lightly. "I never travle with flamables."
KetlinNarris: "And I always travel alone," he quiped.
MootaScara: "It seems my lot in life to travle much of it alone.." she smiled sadly.
KetlinNarris: He smiled nervously. What's wrong with being alone? "Right. Me too."
MootaScara: "Some enjoy alone, I dream of those I've left behind."
KetlinNarris: "I chose to be alone. I was thought odd for it, but considering the recent company I had, I wish it had stayed that way."
MootaScara: "May I ask, why you chose to be alone?"
KetlinNarris: "It was a calling," he explained fervently.
MootaScara: "Ahh, a noble reason indeed/"
MootaScara: .*
KetlinNarris: "I wish the council thought so. They just look at us strangely and call us Lonesomes when we're gone." He smiled.
MootaScara: "Where I'm from you would be concidered a hermit."
KetlinNarris: "Is that good?" he wondered, fingering his bandage.
MootaScara: "There are not many Hermits where I am from. At least.. if there are we never see them. They are looked on with some suspision by most."
KetlinNarris: He sighed. "Sounds about right. Mara? Do we have some sort of arrangements for food? All this talking wears me out."
MootaScara: "Aye Orin, I act as law, they feed and shelter us. I'll go get you some thing to eat if you wish."
KetlinNarris: "I need it."
MootaScara: She nodded. "Alright, I'll be back shortly." She got up, the bed creaking under her weight and door thumping shut behind her. Her foot steps returned a few minuts latter and she brougt in a tray with stew, fresh bread, and a large glass of milk. She came and sat beside him. "You want to eat on your own?"
KetlinNarris: "I don't know. I suppose I'd make a mess, but I have to eat something." He didn't like the idea at all, either of being fed or of making a mess when it wasn't his home.
MootaScara: "just take your time," she set the tray in his lap and guided on of his hands to a spoon, the other over the glass, bowl, and bread so he knew where it was.
KetlinNarris: "Thanks..." He tried it on his own. Luckily for his sake he couldnt realy see the mess he was making. "Quite a show, don't you think? THe rock caving in and then a unicorn appearing."
MootaScara: She chuckled. "I wouldn't know. I appeared with the unicorn."
KetlinNarris: "But you must have seen something. THe building was intact before."
KetlinNarris: *that
MootaScara: "When I arrived there were 3 guards, you, and a caved in passage way."
KetlinNarris: "More like a large hallway and 12 rooms."
MootaScara: She chuckled. "all I saw was dust and rock"
KetlinNarris: "I would have caved the whole building in if I could."
MootaScara: "You did that?"
KetlinNarris: He nodded, finishing his food.
MootaScara: "I'm impressed."
KetlinNarris: "Don't be. All my power in the world couldn't have convinced that rock to risk killing me to."
MootaScara: "Ahh, but to bring down one rock, never mind 12 rooms worth is quite an acomplishment to most. I think I'll stick to thwarting the evil Tanos.."
KetlinNarris: "It as invigorating."
MootaScara: (it as invigorating?)
KetlinNarris: (*was)
KetlinNarris: (>.o evil keyboard and silly mica)
MootaScara: (ahh kk)
MootaScara: (^-^)
MootaScara: "I will take your word on that Orin."
KetlinNarris: "You try getting rock to talk back. It takes awhile. Slow to anger...but strong to act, it is."
MootaScara: (Yoda! muwahah)
KetlinNarris: (poor orin. He doesnt talk to nice people in years and all you can do is make fun of his speach? hhe)
MootaScara: She smiled. "I'll stick to keeping an angry red dragons temper in check anyday.."
KetlinNarris: "Is that what you do?"
MootaScara: "When in the same realm, aye. And battle evil and protect the innocent and wander amileslly."
KetlinNarris: "Is that your lore, then? Dragons."
MootaScara: "I am a Dragon Knight, bound to the dragon Carad. Our lore is fire."
KetlinNarris: "Bound?" he snatched the word up immediately.
MootaScara: "Aye. Our blood is mixed until I denounce what I am. We are one until such time as that happens."
KetlinNarris: "I'm bound too..." he told her carefully. No one else knew, except other Lonesomes who'd been through similar things. And none of them knew to what he was bound.
KetlinNarris: Well, and then some people he didnt' like had figured it out.
MootaScara: "Bound to a dragon?" she asked curiously.
KetlinNarris: "No. I've never met one." ^_^;;
MootaScara: "Then to what or whom are you bound?"
KetlinNarris: "To my home," he replied uncertaintly.
MootaScara: "Ahh," she nodded. She head of such things.
KetlinNarris: "I think," he added. "I should have died... I;ve been gone so long." This was punctuated with a yawn.
MootaScara: She took the tray from him and set it to the side. "Sleep Orin."
KetlinNarris: Orin nodded. "I feel like I could sleep for days. I'll have to remember that the next time I want to collapse rock."
MootaScara: She chuckled and pulled the blankets back over him. "Rest well Orin."
KetlinNarris: "To getting back home then. Goodnight." He fell asleep.
KetlinNarris: (woo. they make nice friends)
KetlinNarris: Orin was a pretty good boy as far as staying in bed as he recovered. For the first few days. In fact, he seemed almost listless, and tended to shy away from deeper subjects if anyone tried to talk to him.
mootascara: After rounds, Mara came back to the room. She was tired, and missed her dragon companion greatly. She felt out of place not having a dragon near her side. Comming into the room and flopping down on her bed she looked over to Orin. "How you feeling today Orin..?"
KetlinNarris: "I'm fine," he stated simply, as if he were bored with the question. He added more politely, " You?"
mootascara: "I'm alright," she said softly. For she was alright. ...just lonely..
KetlinNarris: "You seem like you've been working hard."
mootascara: "Well there's a few that keep trying to make trouble. ... I think they're starting to get the idea not to though." She half smiled.
KetlinNarris: "I heard why they hired you so fast."
mootascara: "What rumor did you hear.."
KetlinNarris: "Apparently there was trouble here recently." Orin "stared" up at the ceiling. He was well enough to take the bandages off, but wore a bandana around his empty eye-sockets anyway. "A small group wandered in and tried to sell a town nearby slaves. They locked them up, and about a week later a stranger came in and let them out right under their noses."
mootascara: "Ahh so that's why...People around here don't talk to me much..
mootascara: "
KetlinNarris: "That nurse came to check on me," he explained. "She ask me about myself and us, but I got far more out of her than she got out of me." He smiled slightly, a confident one.
mootascara: "Ahh," she chuckled faintly. "Keeping us mesterious are you."
KetlinNarris: He nodded soberly. "She was awful bloody curious, too. I don't like it at all."
mootascara: "Many humans are curious... especially young women.."
KetlinNarris: A pause. "I suppose that's supposed to mean something, but since she's almost a decade younger than I am, I dont bloody well care," he grumbled irritably, though not exactly angry. He simply felt interrupted.
mootascara: "Well continue with your thoughts then.."
mootascara: Urdging him to go on as he was.
KetlinNarris: "Not to accuse her of anything," he said cynically, "but she could be asking for reasons beyond curiosity. Some people here don't trust us, and she might be a gossiper."
mootascara: "I have little in my past that would much change anyones opinion of me..."
KetlinNarris: "These people are very isolationist, though. Havent you noticed? They dont know anything about the rest of the world, and they don't want to. They act strangely when you mention it."
mootascara: She yawned faintly. "I figured a few possibilities to that. ..one, they are isolationists, or two, we jumped worlds with Goan and are really lost.."
KetlinNarris: "They don't talk about surrounding towns either."
mootascara: "It's possible there arn't any for a long ways." She liked to give most people the benifit of the doubt, even if she didn't really believe it herself.
KetlinNarris: "Whatever," he dissmissed her comment easily. "I don't think we're in different world. Im fairly sure of it."
mootascara: "I'll take your word on that and hope it is true for myself as well..."
KetlinNarris: "Trees are still green arent they?" he scoffed slightly, smiling a bit.
mootascara: "That means little when it comes to moving between lands and worlds..."
KetlinNarris: "Hmph."
mootascara: "I've done my share of traveling Orin.. Many worlds look very similar."
KetlinNarris: Orin scowled, not liking that idea at all and not believing it even valid. The world felt the same to him, but he didnt want to explain that. In fact, he rolled away from her and said nothing.
mootascara: She sighed, sorry that she had upset him, but it was as she knew it to be. She couldn't feel the world the same way he could, so it was very likly they were still in Orins world... BUT, did that make it her own?
KetlinNarris: (btw, yes)
mootascara: (lol ok)
KetlinNarris: (if you want I guess. Its better if yes)
mootascara: (it's just all so different from what she was used to)
KetlinNarris: Orin didn't even pretend to fall asleep, he just lay there and thought.
mootascara: (once she finds a dragon she'll figure it out pretty fast)
KetlinNarris: (woot)
mootascara: Mara didn't have to pretend, she was asleep very quickly, her exauhsted dreams about those she'd left behind. She truly hopped Carad wasn't too anxious. She pittied the others if he was.
KetlinNarris: (lol)
KetlinNarris: (its ok if when she wakes up, he's gone, right? She wouldnt wake up when he got up?)
mootascara: (depends on a few things. if anyone else was in the room, and how asleep she was. ususaly she's half awake even when asleep)
KetlinNarris: (no one else there. Just him leaving ^^)
KetlinNarris: (and her exhausted XP)
mootascara: (lol aye.... ok.... he goes and she doesn't wake up)
KetlinNarris: (woot)
KetlinNarris: Orin leaves, using a stick the nurse gave him and his sense of direction to guide him. Unaware of much around him, he makes it as far as he can walking. Heading straight for his home.
mootascara: Mara awoke to find Orin gone. Her heart skipped a beat with worry as to what happend to him. Jumping up she dashed outside to see if she could find him. Looking out for tracks and signs.
KetlinNarris: She finds he didn't bother to cover his tracks any through the dusty desert-like town.
mootascara: She relaxes a little finding a trace of him and starts tracking him. Easily following his tracks.
KetlinNarris: It looks almost like a three footed man as he uses he stick as he was taught by the nurse, luckily not running into anybody and pissing them off. He's already out past the small town and heading due west towards the next, but once she clears the town herself he's as easy to spot as an angry dragon.
mootascara: Catching him in her sights she picked up speed, running to catch up to him. SHe moved relitivly quietly for how fast she moved, almost like she were flying like a dragon. THough of course, that would be obserd, right?
KetlinNarris: He was so intent on speaking the the land that he didnt hear her coming at all, just kept walking. She couldn't tell what he was doing though, as he was silent and simply looked to be angry or concentrating.
mootascara: She decided just to follow along beside him, letting him do what ever it was he was doing.
KetlinNarris: (poor Goan haha)
mootascara: (lol he's a unicorn, he can go where ever he wants. lol he'll probably know they've left too)
KetlinNarris: (teheh)
mootascara: (lol least that's what mack would do)
KetlinNarris: He had already tired when she'd caught up, and it wasn't long before he looked exhausted. It took his exhaustion, though, to break his concentrate and make him notice her. He whirled to face her, holding the walking stick like he could very well use it as a weapon.
mootascara: "Easy Orin," she said softly. One hand to her hilt just in case. "It's just me."
KetlinNarris: "I know," he snapped. "I knew before you opened your mouth."
mootascara: "If you are going to attack me Orin do so. If not, put down your staff and be hospitable..."
KetlinNarris: The staff was only about an inch off the ground, but he set it down and let go of one hand. "You didn't bring Goan with you," he pointed out.
mootascara: "When I left I was more worried about you then Goan. And goans a full grown unicorn.. I'm sure he can follow us at will."
KetlinNarris: Orin cleared his throat and "looked" around akwardly. "Well, you found me."
mootascara: "Quite easily actually. What are you up to Orin. Did you not wish to at least say fairwell?"
KetlinNarris: He wiped the sweat from his forhead and considered the situation with a sultry, "Hmph."
KetlinNarris: "I didn't think of it," he admitted.
mootascara: "..I can leave you be if you wish..."
KetlinNarris: "There's no need for that. You don't have ties to that town, just come with me."
mootascara: "Would it be easier for you if we had Goan? I can go back and get him if you wish. It won't take me all that long."
KetlinNarris: he leaned on his staff and replied fuzzily, "I don't bloody well know."
mootascara: She sighed and nodded. "Alright...You wait here and I'll be back shortly... alright Orin..?"
KetlinNarris: "I'll be ok," he grumbled more goodnaturedly, though without and attempt to explain his actions. He wasn't used to answering to anyone.
mootascara: "Alright then, I'll be back soon with Goan.." She turned leaving his side. Running back the way they came, though at full speed to get there as fast as she could. Once there she went to the stables and gathered Goan, leading him back out of the town.
KetlinNarris: Goan chattered pleasantly, -
mootascara: She laughed faintly. "..think you can run faster then I can Goan...?"
KetlinNarris: -Faster? I don't know about that, I am an old horse after all.- he chuckled. -So he ran off, did he? Whatever for?-
mootascara: "Old horse my arse Goan," she laughed. "You're younger then my Mack is and he can still fly circles around me." She ran beside him, leading him to Orin. "Well suppose you ask him then when we get there."
KetlinNarris: -I see him,- he declared long before they were out of town. -What are we waiting for then? If you want to run, then run. But if you want to ride, then make it look proper.-
mootascara: She laughed and swung up on his back then bent over his neck reins in hand. "Hyah!"
KetlinNarris: He took off straight for Orin, making a show of speed once they left the eyes of the town. When he got there, he made an equal show of rearing, the nudged Orin, who was sitting down cross-legged, and said -Most humans sleep on their backs you know.-
mootascara: Mara chuckled and slipped from Goans back, her legs half buckling under her. Her run had taken alot out of her. "Be nice Goan.." She sat down opposite of Orin with a nother chuckle. "After all, is't that what unicorns are supposed to be?"
KetlinNarris: -Not atall!- Goan declared happily, not tired at all from his run.
KetlinNarris: Orin yawned and leaned on his staff even though he was only sitting. "I suppose I owe you an apology," he mumbled, seemingly to his staff.
MootaScara: "Who, your staff or all those concerened," she held good humor in her tone.
KetlinNarris: "You. I don't think the unicorn much cares."
MootaScara: "I'm used to things like that, don't worry about it too much."
KetlinNarris: "Used to people leaving you without warning?" he asked gruffly.
MootaScara: "Aye..."her voice was quiet, her tone soft, somewhat sad.
KetlinNarris: "Well, let it be known that I'm not generally like that," he continued in the same gruff tone. "I have respect, honor, foresight."
MootaScara: She chuckled faintly. "Aye and don't usually live around people..":
KetlinNarris: "Me?" he asked incrediculously. "I don't remember telling you that."
MootaScara: "You said they call you a lonesome here a while back when you were still in bed."
KetlinNarris: "I suppose the name does explain itself," he musd roughly, then shuttered slightly.
MootaScara: "Why the shudder?"
KetlinNarris: "I
KetlinNarris: "I've worn myelf out," he addmitted.
MootaScara: "Then rest yourself. We don't have to go anywhere very quickly."
KetlinNarris: His grip on the staff tightened in response, as if some part of him disagreed vehemently, but he said nothing. Orin stretched out on the sand with a sigh.
MootaScara: Mara remained steated as she was, her arms resting loosely upon her knees.
KetlinNarris: He slept for the rest of the afternoon, getting up a little before dawn. "Goan?" he whispered, but the unicorn ingored him. Orin grumbled unpleasantly.
MootaScara: Mara raised her head looking to Orin. "Perhaps call a little louder."
KetlinNarris: "He can hear me, he's just a stubborn horse," Orin said at the same volume, getting an angry snort from Goan a few feet off. "Heh. You're awake then? Did you sleep at all?"
MootaScara: "I am rested." A vague answere, but an answer.
KetlinNarris: "Well, I'm glad you have super powers. Let's go then."
MootaScara: She stood up with a streach. "Alright then, Goan," she laughed looking over to him. "Chew, swallow, then come on over."
KetlinNarris: Goan trotted over. "The child could walk if he had behaved yesterday."
MootaScara: "Well I'm going to pull rank and say you ride Orin."
KetlinNarris: "Why?"
MootaScara: "Because I can."
KetlinNarris: "Who says you outrank me??"
MootaScara: "My birthday."
KetlinNarris: "Liar," he tested.
MootaScara: "I am older then you are," she stated firmly. "By quiet a few years in fact."
KetlinNarris: "Hmph. Ok. Goan? Could you come a bit closer?" Goan stepped up beside him and only danced away a little when Orin climbed on. "So how old are yu?"
MootaScara: "Last I would tell any one or really?"
KetlinNarris: "Really."
MootaScara: "Well now, more then last I'd admit to."
KetlinNarris: "But how old?"
MootaScara: She sighed rubbing a hand over the bridge of her nose and responded quietly. "Ninty-nine..."
KetlinNarris: "Eh, that's nothing," he assurd her. "I'm sure you don't look it."
MootaScara: "I don't, but I havn't quite manage to be proud of my age yet.."
KetlinNarris: "Why not? That's silly."
MootaScara: "You wouldn't understand.." She sighed working hard not to grumble. "Which way?"
KetlinNarris: Orin was already guiding Goan wordlessly and didn't answer. "I'm 26! Almost 27," he answered proudly.
MootaScara: She chuckled. "Aye.. when I was your age I was proud of it too."
KetlinNarris: "When I'm 60 I'll stil be proud."
MootaScara: "Aye, but your male."
KetlinNarris: "What's that supposed to mean?" Goan squng around. "Bloody fool! I said west!"
MootaScara: Mara followed along side them. "Females tend to have more trouble dealing with certain ages."
KetlinNarris: Goan pranced around in a circle and then heade dback west. "You shouldnt. Are there any villiages in our way?"
MootaScara: "Ask Goan..."
KetlinNarris: -There aren't. The desert stretches far without break,- Goan announced casually.
MootaScara: Mara sighed. "..if only Carad were here... make the trip a whole bloody lot quicker and relyable..."
KetlinNarris: -I can run!- Goan offered excitedly.
MootaScara: "Carad," she gently corrected him. "The on I am bonded with. That or Mack, he
MootaScara: 's good at not getting us lost.. left that to me."
KetlinNarris: "A person?"
MootaScara: "A dragon."
KetlinNarris: Orin grew deathly silent.
MootaScara: "Mack is a horse.."
KetlinNarris: "Mhh."
MootaScara: "What bothers you Orin, you already knew I was a Dragon Knight. You knew I was bonded, as you are to your home."
KetlinNarris: "Yes, I'm just thinking about my bond."
KetlinNarris: It seemed he could have said more.
KetlinNarris: Silly men.
MootaScara: (lol)
MootaScara: Mara had times she could say more as well, so she left him his silence and swung up behind him onto Goans back. "Go for it Goan."
KetlinNarris: -Yippie!- Goan dashed ahead, pausing only a few times throughout the day. -I haven't done this since I was a colt!- He announced as the sun was setting.
MootaScara: Mara chuckled. "I'm glad you are enjoying yourself Goan.."
KetlinNarris: "I'm glad you're so fast," Orin complimented, "And that I'm used to holding on."
KetlinNarris: Goan chuckled.
MootaScara: Mara smiled. "If you weren't I'd have held you on."
KetlinNarris: Orin hopped off without replying. "I don't suppose we brought any food."
MootaScara: "I'm sure there's some roots around"
KetlinNarris: "It's the desert," he said flatly, then, "Mh. Hang on a moment." He sat down and thought.
MootaScara: She slid from Goans back, streaching as she waited.
KetlinNarris: "Did I set my staff somewhere?"
MootaScara: "I secured it to Goan at one of our streach breaks." She retrived it from Goan and brought it to Orin, standing it before him.
KetlinNarris: He grappled for it. "Thanks. There's really nothing here."
MootaScara: "Not much no, but enough." She looked about, one eye narrowed as she sniffed at the air turning about in a circle.
KetlinNarris: "No. I mean there's nothing."
MootaScara: She sighed sitting down. "Goan... is it possible for you to..?"
KetlinNarris: "What? Go further? I thought humans needed rest."
MootaScara: "That or some how find some food I guess."
KetlinNarris: -No.- Orin grumbled.
MootaScara: "Well then, I guess we sleep hungry, or move on. ..Orin?"
KetlinNarris: "I'm fine." He paused. "Despite evidence to the contrary."
MootaScara: She nodded and sat down in the sand. "Very well then. When you're ready to move on, let us know."
KetlinNarris: "Oh, no, I'm ready. I didn' mean to say otherwise. REally it's much better if we go. Now."
MootaScara: She nodded standing up again, "alright then, back up onto Goan"
KetlinNarris: Orin hopped on quickly. THey started again. After a few minutes: "I suppose I should tell you something."
MootaScara: "Aye if you must."
KetlinNarris: "WEll if you don't want to hear it," he snapped.
MootaScara: Mara just smiled riding comfortably behind Orin. "Say what's on your mind.."
KetlinNarris: "Alright then," he grumbled, almost sounding like he was stalling. But he wasnt exactl one to stall once he'd made up his mind to do something. "Yesterday, when I ran off like that... I'm not saying there's any real excuse for not getting you first, but it honestly felt like I couldn't do anything else. Maybe next time I'll be more prepared."
MootaScara: She nodded faintly, "It's alright Orin."
KetlinNarris: "You cant expect me not to do it again, is all."
MootaScara: "It's alright Orin. ..I'm used to following after people and finding myself alone." She chuckled half heartedly. "I'm a big girl, I can look after myself as well as others.."
KetlinNarris: "That's not the point," he growled, "the point is that i shouldnt have, and I wouldnt normally."
MootaScara: "From what you'v told me, normaly you wouldn't be traveling with a companion anyways Orin." She pointed out softly.
KetlinNarris: "I wouldnt be travelling at all. But when I did, I wouldnt have... and I'm older now. I'm more responsible. It's just not right."
MootaScara: "You've also recently lost your eyes Orin, that can change a person and set them off for a while."
KetlinNarris: Orin smirked. "It hasnt changed me a hell of a lot. Trust me on that one."
MootaScara: She smiled, her sharp green eyes survaying the horizon. "As you wish Orin, as you wish.."
KetlinNarris: "I was just as cranky before!" he asserted, "and perhaps crazier. I wouldnt step outside the boundaries for more than an hour, and here i am miles away! It drives me nuts!" Goan whickered for the heck of it.
MootaScara: "Not a long trip," mara teased under her breath.
KetlinNarris: "I just want to get back so bad, the drive is always there..."
MootaScara: "Hey Goan.. can we go a little faster?" She peered around Orin to Goans ears.
KetlinNarris: -Again? Humans are so impatient,- he complained good naturedly, but began trotting showhorse style. That's right, showing off even as he continued in a granfatherly tone, -Won't you ever learn that you miss the most when you rush towards something?-
MootaScara: "Ahh but Goan, we don't live as long as you. If we don't rush we might die before compleating our lifes work," she commented with a small laugh.
KetlinNarris: -Yes, but how many unicorns do you think you've missed?-
MootaScara: "Mack usually lets me know when we're near one... and for the amount of time I see a horse never mind anything else, it's not likly I've missed too much.
MootaScara: "
KetlinNarris: -Oh bother,- Goan complained good naturedly.
MootaScara: Mara smiled softly, riding in silence for a while.
KetlinNarris: "Well I was surprised," Orin retorted. "I'd never met one before, and yet it was so clear to me."
MootaScara: She searched the horizons about them her smile slowly fading away. She was missing her friends again, and there was a strange feeling growing in the pit of her stomach again. It didn't usually bode well when she felt it.
KetlinNarris: "Are we getting anywhere near the mountains?" Orin pestered.
KetlinNarris: (you've got trouble for 'em?)
MootaScara: (I was thinking more she's starting to feel the attack that will be once they get to Orins place. She feels the growing forces more or less, their plans focusing towards Orin, and herself as she's there.)
MootaScara: (we could pull out a couple of Soulless if you wants though ^-^)
KetlinNarris: (nah, nah, we can skip a few days o when they are there. as long as she watches him and doesnt let himrun off in hte night)
MootaScara: (aye she will, she osm
MootaScara: *isn't as tired and doesn't usually sleep deeply. lol most of the time sitting up)
KetlinNarris: (oki, we skip then)
KetlinNarris: Days later, they were entering the woods. "Faster!" Orin demanded of Goan, "We're so close!"
MootaScara: Mara had grown more and more quiet as they came closer. She sat, brooding now on Goans back, her eyes dark as they watched ever alert.
KetlinNarris: Orin sat in front of her. "'ll make sure the forest like you," he assured her happily. She'd never seen him act so much like a boy. A few minutes later, though, and he had stopped Goan entirely and looked a bit worried.
MootaScara: Mara sat a bit straighter. "What is it Orin?"
KetlinNarris: "Do you see anything odd?" he asked them both nervously.
MootaScara: Mara's eyes searched the foilage around them, her sharp gaze as peircing as a dragons. "I do not know what would be concidered odd in these parts Orin..."
KetlinNarris: Orin slid off Goan and walked a few steps forward. "How about large black dog things? THere's nothing in the world that can sense them. Only sight works...."
MootaScara: Mara's hand went to her sword. "You mean those things I fought before?" Her eyes, knowing what to look for looked deeper yet into the shadows.
KetlinNarris: Goan danced nervously. "Yes. It seems as if... some birds have seen them. But of course, that doesnt mean they're there...."
KetlinNarris: Orin held his staff ready
MootaScara: "There close enough Goan.." She slid forward into the saddle, taking Goans reigns into hand as she had when they'd fought before. "just take it easy Goan... what ever happens we stay between them and Orin..."
KetlinNarris: -I can set up a sheild,- he offered excitedly, not exactly scared. -That might work.-
Orin stpped a bit father forwards, and a large black canine stepped out of a tree beside him. At first it was silent, but then it made the mistake of snarling as it lept, and got thwacked on the head pretty hard.
MootaScara: "Do it Goan," she swung from his back her sword singing into the air with a deadly ring. The edge of her blade swung around for it's neck while it was recovering from Orins staff.
KetlinNarris: Four more stepped out, the one closest to Goan the largest and the leader. The canine Mara had aimed for almost died immediately, but managed to lunge again at Orin before Goan could put up his sheild. Orin's ankle was bloodied, but he hit the dog squarely and it fell to the floor, still. THe next dog tat lept at him hit air, and suddenly all of them were aiming for Goan.
MootaScara: "Goan look out!" She didn't know if his sheild worked for him as well or just Orin. Mara's eyes narrowed as she raised her sword high, her battle cry roaring from her lips as she brought it down and ran for the leader, her blade hungry for it's heart as it began it's decent towards the leader.
KetlinNarris: There was no wall around the two of them (er, Im not good at battles).
MootaScara: (lol. mara and goan are in the open?)
KetlinNarris: (yes)
MootaScara: Mara's blade bit deep into the dogs chest.
KetlinNarris: ERm, they all die.
MootaScara: (lol ok...)
KetlinNarris: eheh
KetlinNarris: Orin began to wonder about his little sheild.
MootaScara: Mara glowered around the battle site after it was all over, the tip of her blade hovering over the blood stained grasses. She figured she had them all, but she wouldn't drop her guard just yet.
KetlinNarris: Goan dropped his sheild: Orin fell to the ground.
MootaScara: She whipped her blade on a clean bit of grass cleaning it then sheathed it coming over to Orin. "Are you okay Orin?" She knelt down beside him, one hand going gently to his anckle.
KetlinNarris: "Um.... yeah..." He winced when she touched it. "It's not that bad. I think...we should....leave."
MootaScara: "Aye..." she agreed darkly and stood picking him up without giving him a chance to object. She put him up onto Goans bac then hopped up behind him.
KetlinNarris: He held on tightly to Goan, silent becaus ehe was majorly pissed off.
MootaScara: "Where to Orin... this is your home, not mine..."
KetlinNarris: "I dont care," he snapped. "Just far away... we obviously cant stay here."
MootaScara: She sighed, working hard to keep her battle stress minimal. "Goan... do you think it would be possible to find our way back to where we began all this...?"
KetlinNarris: -I don't know, lady Mara. We can certainly try. I think it may be far north of here. Not in your sense of north, of course. Let me get a running start.... Yu'd better appreciate this, child.-
MootaScara: She hung onto Goan, one arm around Orin. "Very much Goan... "
KetlinNarris: The unicorn has actually waited untl she said yes before beginning his run. They spent a long time in his transitional travel world, blown about a lot as well as going against the winds in some places.
Then, Mara sensed the power of a dragon. -I think this is your world, Mara.-
MootaScara: Mara squinted through the wind and blur of the transitional world, it didn't feel like Carad, but it was a dragon. And any dragon right now was welcome to her.
KetlinNarris: Goan stepped down into her world, almost collapsing wherever he landed. Orin slid off and say down. It had been tiring for all.
MootaScara: Mara slid from Goans back as well, breathing deep as a smile slowly crossed her face. The first real smile in a long time. This felt, smelt, and looked like home. Her green eyes looked about to see if the dragon she had senced was near.
KetlinNarris: Because of the distortion in The Realm of Fate, the dragon was not particularly in site. Goan didnt look like he was getting up, anyway. Orin stood up and "looked" around.
MootaScara: Mara sighed and sat down beside Goan patting his neck. "Thank you Goan..."
KetlinNarris: He snorted at her. -You're a lot of trouble, you know that? That goes for you, too, Orin.-
Orin didn't answer with any more than a grunt.
MootaScara: Mara held back a laugh and resisted commenting that he'd been the one to do his transition thing in the first place. "Yes Goan, I am. And you arn't the first one to tell me that."
KetlinNarris: "Mara... we;re trully in a different place now, arent we? How weird."
MootaScara: "What's weird Orin..? That we are in a different place?"
KetlinNarris: "Well...everything's so different... and I cant feel where my home is... I... yeah, this place is different." Orin sighed deeply.
MootaScara: "..You did wish to be far away"
KetlinNarris: "I suppose it is best."
MootaScara: She sighed frowning slighlty. "Lets hope so..."
KetlinNarris: "You're in charge now," he pointed out. "I've nothing to d ohere."
MootaScara: "Well right now I say rest, we could all use some of that.."
KetlinNarris: Orin curled up beside Goan, and they both slept.
MootaScara: Mara stood and left the two guys sleeping behind her. Now that she was back home again, Tanos would be able to tap into her again. ...she had to get that dagger, so she had to go back to the mist marshes... She stoped walking once
MootaScara: she was out of viw of Orin and Goan. Looking up to the sky she sighed. She'd need someone here to protect them if Tanos decided to make her do things again... She'd have to call Carad. "Carad!" She
MootaScara: called loudly into the air. SHe didn't know how close she was or far. Though she figured they were quite far away. On the other side of the forests. That was good though.. that meant the marshes were close.
Copga Misal: At first, nothing happened... but moments later, a large shadow hung over, and with the pat of his wings, Carad landed infront of her, bowing his head before her for a pat. "You summoned, Mara?"
MootaScara: She sighed relaxing that he'd made it. "Oh Carad I'm so glad you heard me.." Her arms wrapped tightly about his snout instead of patting him. She found it amazing how much she'd missed him while she was
MootaScara: in a different world.
Copga Misal: "I will always come to your call, Mara." he assured her, nuzzling back.
MootaScara: She pulled back giving the pat he'd asked for managing a small smile. "I've been much further away then I intented to go, I missed you greatly.. and Baine as well. I have to find the Flame Dagger Carad, and I want you
MootaScara: to help me... I can't do it on my own anymore and I need you to watch me..."
ketlinnarris: (and I brought ppls with me!)
MootaScara: (lol, she'll get to that)
Copga Misal: "I would follow you into the pits of hell, Mara." he announced proudly.
Copga Misal: "Odd saying... I figure it would be nice and warm..."
MootaScara: She laughed, "Aye..." her smile faded. "Ask Baine...."
Copga Misal: Carad rested a claw on her shoulder. "Er...sorry. Open mouth, insert paw."
MootaScara: She managed a small smile again. "It's ok Carad.. I need you to keep an eye on me Carad.. Tanos still has a hold on me, and now that I'm back here he'll be able to use it again. I've brought a unicorn and
MootaScara: blind boy back with me. I'll need you to make sure he doesn't make me do anything to them.."
ketlinnarris: (boy. GRRR. he's 27!)
MootaScara: (lol and she's old enough to be his grandma your point?)
ketlinnarris: (I dont care! He not a boy!)
MootaScara: (ok man, a blind man)
Copga Misal: "I will do the best within my power." he bowed. "Especially for this boy."
Copga Misal: (O:-))
MootaScara: (heh....)
ketlinnarris: (ARRGG *slash*)
Copga Misal: (AH!)
ketlinnarris: (*at the air)
Copga Misal: (oh. tee hee then.)
MootaScara: "Thank you Carad, I will rest easier knowing you'll look out for them. Come on.. we should head back to them. They'll probably wake up soon."
Copga Misal: "I have an interesting idea, then..." he mused. "How would you respond to waking up with a dragon inches away from your face?" he grinned, the best a dragon could.
Copga Misal: He was attempting to raise her spirits, so he took a page from Luin's book. The book of mischief, of course.
MootaScara: She laughed, the first real laugh she'd had in months. "I'd grumble and roll over... They wouldn't."
ketlinnarris: (well, maybe goan would)
MootaScara: (lol maybe)
ketlinnarris: (and Orin...cant see him. LOL)
MootaScara: (lol true)
ketlinnarris: (thats ok. Ill have him sense hima bit if you have the dragon blow in his face)
MootaScara: (but if he growled in Orins ear?)
MootaScara: (lol)
ketlinnarris: mew
ketlinnarris: (that was the mew of innocence)
Copga Misal: (hold a sec)
ketlinnarris: (k)
MootaScara: (=holds the phone=)
Copga Misal: Carad smiled as he leaned closed to the young man's ear, breathing warm, dragon breath on him and letting out a low growl.
MootaScara: Mara leaned non-chalauntly against Carad, one hand propping her head up as he played his prank.
ketlinnarris: Orin mumbled in his sleep, then sat up, holding his staff ready much as if he were standing up to fight. Hmn, that might be more useful if he were standing. "WHo's there?" he demanded with a growl of his own. "Holy---!!!"
Copga Misal: Carad shifted from growl to intense roar
ketlinnarris: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH MaRA what the hell IS it?" Orin poked him with the stick, meaning it to be a jab, not that dragon felsh particuallary cared.
MootaScara: Mara couldn't help but laugh. "It's ok Orin, this is Carad.. to whom I'm bonded."
ketlinnarris: Orin snorted at him. "tell him to back his scaly hide out of growling distance. I was trying to sleep you bloody fool!"
MootaScara: "Now now... play nice. Both of you.
MootaScara: " she gave Carad a playful jab in the side.
Copga Misal: Carad chuckled. "Just hazing the boy."
ketlinnarris: "Consider me hazed you hulk of scales. Your breath stinks."
Copga Misal: "Why thank you. A pinch of human could fix that." He grinned.
ketlinnarris: Orin stood up. "Come closer. I've never seen a dragon before, and I never will, but I might as well touch you."
MootaScara: Mara rested her hands behind her head, her green eyes staring off into the distance towards the mist marshes. She wondered if she'd actully make it through this time without the drow catching her... Blasted drow!
Copga Misal: He leaned closer.
ketlinnarris: Orn reached out and stroked his nose. "So. Bet you're big, right?"
Copga Misal: "Very." he said proudly.
ketlinnarris: "Wow. That's enough for me. Can I go back to bed?"
MootaScara: Mara's eyes narrowed slightly, something was out there.
ketlinnarris: "If not, let's wake Goan up. That fool of a unicorn should have the scare Idid."
Copga Misal: Carad's keen eyes followed it. He sniffed the air... what was it...
ketlinnarris: Orin poked Goan, who woke up with a annoyed snort. then, -Mh? A dragon. Nice to meet you."
MootaScara: "Orin... is it possible for one of your soulless to follow us here...."
ketlinnarris: Goan answered for him. -No. WE would have noticed them behind us. Im positive we werent followed-
ketlinnarris: Orin shrugged. "Like I could tell."
MootaScara: "Carad.... what was Lukes pool like when you left?"
Copga Misal: (the lagoon, or the special one?)
MootaScara: (the special one)
Copga Misal: "Still Ice cold...no, beyond ice..." he said, narrowing eyes.
MootaScara: "...It used to be warm Carad.." she looked up at him with worry in her eyes. "Lets get moving. We'll make for the Mist Marshes. She probably won't be able to follow us there.."
ketlinnarris: "I can take a hint," Orin grumbled and climbed unto goan.
Copga Misal: Carad seemed confused for a moment, than took a look of shear horror. "Let's move quickly. With a quick paw movement, he tossed the blind man on his back.
MootaScara: Mara swung up onto Cara's back, her eyes still searching the horizon as she put an arm around Orin. "Don't forget Goan...."
ketlinnarris: Goan snorted. -If you dont mind, I can just leave. I can go very far away, but then who will watch after orin?-
Copga Misal: (is it in unicorn or human form?)
MootaScara: "Carad and I will take care of him for now Goan... You can come back when you wish to, but for now.. it would safer for you to be away.."
ketlinnarris: (unicorn. It dont turn human)
MootaScara: (some do)
ketlinnarris: -I think I'll take leave then, resume being out of things. Goodnight.- GOan walked calmly off into the forest.
MootaScara: Mara breathed hard through her nose. "Alright Carad, Mist Marshes..."
Copga Misal: Carad took off with mighty flaps of his wings, taking to the sky. He knew his target, and where to go. It wouldn't take long, but it would awhile. "Mara, what is it with you and finding stragglers?" mused the dragon.
MootaScara: "I don't know Carad, seems my lot in life.. Though finding Orin was due to Goan."
ketlinnarris: "I am not a straggler," Orin bit back.
Copga Misal: "Neither was Sneak." smirked Carad.
MootaScara: "Sneak... aye, any word on him lately?"
ketlinnarris: Orin sighed.
Copga Misal: "I heard Mor laughing about him reporting bout see sickness... and that he was close." Carad laughed.
Copga Misal: *sea
MootaScara: "Good...the sooner we find all the daggers, the sooner Tanos can be stopped..." Her gaze turned towards the mist marshes. "Orin.. once we enter the mist marshes we will have to
MootaScara: be quiet. There are drow in there and if they find us, we'll be in trouble."
ketlinnarris: "Ill be quiet," he sighed, sounding like he ddnt care anymore.
Copga Misal: "If you don't mind me asking... how did you loose your sight?" Carad asked thoughtfull.
ketlinnarris: "Painfully." Orin fingered the bandana wrapped around his eyes.
Copga Misal: "Are your eyes... intact? By the way, this is not morbid fasination."
ketlinnarris: "No. Ask the guy who took them." He shruged
Copga Misal: "Hmm... well, I can't fix that for now, then... but I do have an idea."
ketlinnarris: "Oh?" he didnt sound very interested
Copga Misal: "Open your mouth." he instructed.
MootaScara: "Carad we're flying.. he'll swallow a bug."
ketlinnarris: Orin did so anyway.
Copga Misal: "Now Mara, if you'd be so kind as to stab my paw..."
Copga Misal: He lifted a paw.
MootaScara: "Carad...."
ketlinnarris: Orin didnt even flinch. He figured the dragon knew what he was dong.
Copga Misal: "Mara, don't worry. It'll heal quickly."
MootaScara: Mara growled and pulled her dagger from her bood. She drove the blade into Carads paw to draw blood for him, wincing as she did so.
Copga Misal: The blood flowed back in the wind and hit its mark; the boys mouth. It traveled down his throat. Rather morbid it seemed. until the boy found himself.. changed, slightly. Small things... like being able to tell where things where
ketlinnarris: (added to the sense he already had, just so you know. Still, he couldnt "see")
Copga Misal: (yeah, but now he can with the effieciency of a dragon)
ketlinnarris: Orin swallowed the blood ruefully. Why the hell not. "THanks, I think."
MootaScara: "Carad....do you think you could make it to the mountains in the middle of the mist marshes..?"
Copga Misal: "With or without the drow spotting me?"
MootaScara: "Preferably without as quickly as possible."
Copga Misal: "That would take some tight, flying and a hard dive bomb... and precise manuevering."
MootaScara: "And? can you do it?"
ketlinnarris: Orn tightened his grip. He aws liking this fake sight thing, and it boosted his spirits a bit as he listened to their strange talk.
Copga Misal: "Oh, that's the easy part." He grinned. "The trouble is, if you two can handle it."
ketlinnarris: "I'm ok with it. If I fall off, oh well."
MootaScara: "I don't think falling off is the problem," Mara smirked. "It's the air sickness." She wrapped her legs tight onto Carad, one arm hanging onto Orin, the other onto Carad. "Go for it my friend."
Copga Misal: "All right then." He smirked, as they rose high over cloud level. His speed was increasing with ascension...(btw, what ever happened to our Drow friend?)
ketlinnarris: Orin started to yell whole heartedly as they gained speed. It helped his fear.
MootaScara: (she probably spontaniously combusted when she left the mist marsh)
MootaScara: "Shhh..." Mara hushed Orin softly. "We don't want to be heard..."
ketlinnarris: Orin litterally bit his tongue to stop, nodding at hte same time.
Copga Misal: Carad climbed higher and higher into the air, his speed gently slowing as he reached an extremely high altitude. "Gut check time, you two." Carad remarked, as he grit his teeth. His wings had stopped flapping(m)
Copga Misal: they where gently and slowly rising...
MootaScara: Mara tightend her grip on both Carad and Orin, taking a deep breath and closing her eyes.
ketlinnarris: Orin squeezed her hand once ot let her know he was holding on, then tightened his grip on Cerad. He wouldn't yell again.
Copga Misal: Carad slowly tilted forward, in a type of slow, elogant barrel roll... which quickened with unparalleled haste as the massive beast came corkscrewing through the clouds at un measurable speed, which only grew faster.
ketlinnarris: Orin wondered how long it would be until they would be on the ground, and he coudl throw up.
MootaScara: Mara clenched her teeth, her legs tightening about Carad.
Copga Misal: How long did it take, to reach point A to point B? Who knew... only that it spun by, effortlessly... and then, was suddenly over, with an enormous jerk and heavy beats of wings... landing like a helicopter, barely disturbing the
Copga Misal: ground, minus the dust his wings kicked up.
MootaScara: Mara gasped in a breath of air as her eyes opend, taking in the surroundings.
ketlinnarris: Orin hopped off immediately and threw up. His budding sense had given him an extra rush to twist his stomach as they had plummeted. At least Mara could close her eyes. Orin...threw up.
ketlinnarris: (-Orin threw up)
ketlinnarris: (Im stupid)
MootaScara: (no...mica smart)
Copga Misal: (mica tis smart)
ketlinnarris: (ok, then mica is redundant)
Copga Misal: (Mar, can you describe it? I not know what this place is)
MootaScara: (so we hit target then? lol just making sure first ^-~)
Copga Misal: (lol yes. Carad always makes his mark)
Copga Misal: (^_~)
MootaScara: (lol ok)
MootaScara: The black mists of the mist marshes clung hungrily about their feet, the sky over head blotting out the sun. They stood now at the base of the forbidden mountain, fire spurting every now and then from it's top adding
ketlinnarris: (eee I have to go
MootaScara: ashes to the already dark skies. The odd coal fell down around them like falling stars, to thunk and sizzle on the moist ground. A short way up the mountain from them lay a crack in the mountains black surface.
MootaScara: The path to the crevase above was narrow and rocky, though the crack itself would be just large enough to fit Carad. Mara looking gloomily towards the entrance and pointed a finger. "That's where we have to go in..."
TwistedShadow57: Carad sniffed, not catching any drow. That was a good sign... they had come in unnoticed. He examined the crack and scratched his head. "Mighty small... looks like a tight squeeze."
MootaScara: "I think you can make it Carad.. just suck in your gut," she smirked faintly. "Or loose a little weight..."
ketlinnarris: Orin stood up and walked over to Mara, looking for her hand. He was still getting used to the new sight cerad had given him.
MootaScara: Mara moved her hand to Orins, making finding her easier for him.
ketlinnarris: "Where exactly are we trying to get to?" Orin asked.
MootaScara: "We have to go inside the mountain... at it's center is the fire dagger.."
ketlinnarris: "ALright, I'm ready to go anywhere."
TwistedShadow57: Carad looked at them, as if in waiting. "Would you like me to go first...?" he asked, alittle uncertain.
MootaScara: "You think you can handle the traps Carad...? I know where the first few are.."
TwistedShadow57: Carad smirked. "I can handle most traps, especially ones set in a mountain internally made of flame." he said proudly.
MootaScara: Mara chuckled faintly. "You'll find some of these surprising Carad... but if you want, after you." She bowed to her large counterpart.
TwistedShadow57: "oh... how so?" he asked, as he stepped towards the large crack.
MootaScara: "Not all traps have to do with fire in there... First one is fire, second one water, third ice,... I don't know after that..."
TwistedShadow57: "Hmm... sounds like a challenge. I can handle the first... but the others..." he muttered. Two of his weaknesses... how..quaint.
ketlinnarris: "Wait, how are we going to get through those things???"
MootaScara: "I'll talk you through them as we go.. First one is 10 feet in, fire will blast down at us from the cieling. Orin, we're gonna stay under Carad and we'll be fine."
MootaScara: Well Mara would be fine anyways, but Orin probably wouldn't be.
ketlinnarris: Orin cleared his throat. "Bloody hell I will! Well, let's get moving."
MootaScara: Mara nodded and lead him up the rocky path to the crevase, falling in under Carad once they made it to the entrance.
ketlinnarris: He made sure ot stay very close to her.
TwistedShadow57: Carad took careful steps forward, his nose on the hunt for anything, aswell as his ever searching eyes.
MootaScara: Sure enough, as mara had said, a few feet into the caves a shower of fire suddenly blasted down on them. Carad and mara would definatly be fine, Orin would definatly feel the heat, but he'd be fine too.
TwistedShadow57: Carad almost laughed. Fire... how conforting.
ketlinnarris: It's kinda warm in here.
MootaScara: "Ok...the easy one is out of the way..". She moved ahead of Carad. "Orin.. hang onto Carads tail..."
ketlinnarris: Orin grasped the tail, which seemed a bit strange to him, but hey, only a bloody fool wouldnt follow her directions.
TwistedShadow57: Carad looked around nervously. Water or Ice...
MootaScara: "...Stay low to the ground and take a deep breath in 10.... 9... 8... 7.. " She walked forwards as she was coutning down, taking a deep breath and plugging her nose while flattening herself to the floor at 1.
TwistedShadow57: Carad held his breath.
MootaScara: (Orin.. post please)
ketlinnarris: (O.O post WHAT?)
ketlinnarris: Orin crouched, grumbling to himself as he held unto the dragon's tail. He had the feeling he wouldnt like this one.
ketlinnarris: (*arrrrrrr's at you*)
MootaScara: The roar of a great water rumbled ahead of them, cold spray quickly followed by the full torent of frosty water that bit at the flesh and stung the skin.
ketlinnarris: Orin's heart lept for a moment when he heard the rush of water. Water! He loved water, he had been closest to the water spirits back home than anything else. But, dissapointingly, this water was jsut not the same. He couldnt seem to connect to it, or he didnt know how, and then he was distraced by it washing so violently over him.
TwistedShadow57: Carad's eyes burned under closed lids. He so hated the cold and wet...
ketlinnarris: *distracted
MootaScara: The watter passed over their heads, leaving a thick coating of ice on everything. Including them. Mara let loose a scream and threw her muscles open, shattering what ice was around her, gaining a gash on her cheek in the prosses.
TwistedShadow57: Carad let loose a roar, breathing fire all about as he stretched his wings. The fire wasn't harmful, unless of course you where ice.
ketlinnarris: Orin did just about the same thing, only without the scream. It was a little easier for him since Cerad had started breathing fire. And it didnt bother him, since it was water.
TwistedShadow57: "Everyone alright???"
ketlinnarris: "Yes."
MootaScara: Mara rubbed the back of her hand over the gash on her cheek. "Aye.. for now," she rolled off her tounge, falling back into her old, Irish accent. "From 'ere on in... I canna say what we'll find..."
ketlinnarris: "Great," Orin growled.
TwistedShadow57: Carad's eyes focused. He was on his peak of senses now... any slight creak he'd here... any crackle of magic, any breathing he could hear...
MootaScara: For the moment, all was silent. Mara walked forwards down the path cautiously. "So far so aiee!" She dropped out of sight.
TwistedShadow57: "MARA!" he lunged forward, his head plummeting down to grab a hold of her.
ketlinnarris: Orin was yanked a few feet by the flexing of Cerad's tail. He hadn't let go, and was disturbed thathis new vision indicated that mara had fallen. He didnt dare distract Cerad.
MootaScara: Carad was too late, Mara had dissapeared compleatly. Though she had found a very nice rock slide... "Carad...Orin...?" echoed up distantly from where she'd fallen.
ketlinnarris: Orin let go and walkd to the lip, going carefully those last few steps. He "looked" down. "Mara? Are you hurt?"
ootaScara: "I'm alive if tha' counts..."
ketlinnarris: "You sound pretty far down... have you broken anything?"
MootaScara: "Jus' me pride...." she grumbled, which didn't follow up the slide very well. "I'm just a bit bumped around. I can walk and move fine.."
TwistedShadow57: Carad pondered. "Can I help you up?"
MootaScara: "I dinnae think ye can reach Carad...."
ketlinnarris: "What if we join you?" Orin suggested cynically. "Would that help?"
MootaScara: Maras laugh wafted upwards. "I dinnae think Carad can fit unless he lost 100 pounds...."
TwistedShadow57: "Bloody brimstone... what now?"
MootaScara: "..I'm on a ledge in a room filled wi'h lava way below me. Try an' find it.. I'll wait 'ere."
ketlinnarris: "Does this room have doors or anyway for us to get in once we do?"
MootaScara: "It's very long.. I canna see the whole way down. Bu' there are different crevases in the walls, you can prolly get through those.."
ketlinnarris: Orin wished for his old talent of talking to rocks. But like the water, these rocks spoke a different languages. Curses!
ketlinnarris: If he could talk to them, he could keep track of where htey were easily.
TwistedShadow57: "...mara...."
TwistedShadow57: Carad seemed unsure what to do.
ketlinnarris: Orin sat down at the ledge to think. "Shhh. There must be some way to remember exactly where we are in relation to her. Then the room wold be relatively easy to find."
MootaScara: "Carad, come on.. ye can find me! Just follow yer gut!"
ketlinnarris: "You have a weapon with you right?" Orin asked, concerned about weird beasts in this underground place.
MootaScara: "Aye Orin.. I 'ave me sword..."
ketlinnarris: "Knowing you, you'll be fine then," he encouraged. "Let's go, Carad."
TwistedShadow57: Carad snarled as he stood. "I'll be there shortly." he set off.
ketlinnarris: Orin did his best to keep up. maybe carad knew the best way to find her after all.
MootaScara: Over the pit fall, the caves wound on, they quickly came to a fork where they had to go either right, or left.
ketlinnarris: "Which one is lighter?"
MootaScara: Both looked equally dark.
MootaScara: Though right one seemed slightly warmer then the left.
TwistedShadow57: "We're going right, lad." he noted, picking him up and dropping him on his back as he continued on.
ketlinnarris: Huh. GUess he does know what he's doing. Good thing too since I dont! "You have any idea what you're doing, hatchling?"
TwistedShadow57: "Following my instincts. And I resent that, I've lived longer than you can fathom."
ketlinnarris: "Yeah but I didnt hatch to begin with," Orin chuckled.
TwistedShadow57: He chuckled. "I'd hope not."
ketlinnarris: "So, how good are your instincts, buster?"
MootaScara: There was a faint tremble up ahead.
And jumped into the wind. This time the pressure around them was far more gentle, and Goan seemed to walk until he found a place he liked, the stepped down instead of falling like last time.
They place they were at was ful very much of the mountains behind them, but ahead was a small town.
It looked like someone had jammed a sharp stick into his skin several times.
"Hello?" he asked groggily.
She sighed and rolled over, closing her eyes.
Orin half fell over and cursed "Bloody unicorn! Come back here!" But Goan had pranced out of reach and was laughing.
"I don't need to ride," Orin growled purely in response to the snide remark.
"THat doesn't sound good."
"Who is Cerdad?"
"None," Orin said with certainty. "I always know a unicorn."
Orin sighed, wanting to go faster but saying nothing about that. "I even recognized you for one wih my eyes."
-I'm honored,- Goan snorted ruefully.
"Tomorrow maybe," Goan replied, completely distracted by Orin. Their sense of humor and what have you fed off eachother when Orin was aggitated.
-No.-
(you just basically have to say if something lives or attacks or dies kind of thing in a battle)
