Broken Hearts and Promises

Broken promises break my heart 
Tear me apart 
And yet they keep being made. 
It's like telling lies 
With too many tries 
And then faith begins to fade. 
Give me a promise that you can keep 
Flows with your blood, and runs just that deep. 
Swear to me words that can not be shattered 
Show me the things that really once mattered. 
Promises of love will die 
Swearing things just make you cry 
And simply break your soul. 
You can't keep words prime and new 
Because promises are never true 
I know from the many I've been told. 
Ever changed a life before for the good? 
I think if you tried you could. 
Want to keep my faith in the world.
