Spider's Web or Traces of my Hate And she falls around me Like a promise I've forgotten She's held so long This creature I've begotten. With my calculated grace My every shuddering embrace I've formed her gently like a mold That never gives but only holds Even though the liquid poured Is melted crystal with no form. She falls around me A gentle gift that shatters whole She's held so long But now she's tearing at the folds. Never made to last against the night Silk that cannot hold itself upright And left to rain and moths and wind She pulls apart amongst the din In patterns no one dares to see She slowly drifts around just me. Now she falls around me A melted candle with no wick A flame that has no where to sit And so she falls Although she's held herself so long She only calls My name out once before she fades And all that's left of her are traces of my hate. ~Micaella, Aug 6th 2002
