Personal Statement of Faith
of Bob and Teri Earl

There is one God, who is infinitely perfect and Holy, eternally existent as a tri-unity which is expressed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God created the earth and all it contains, and all things visible and invisible. God desires a personal relationship with us as His children, and the redemption of all creation from the power and dominion of the enemy of mankind and the father of lies, the devil.

The Old and New Testaments are inerrant as originally given, were inspired by God, and constitute the divine and only supreme authority in all matters of Christian faith and conduct.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, Who for the sake of us men and women, came down from Heaven and was born of the Virgin Mary. He revealed the will of the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit. Then, in obedience to the Father and according to God's wisdom, He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, the Just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.

Jesus Christ is both true God and true man. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures and ascended into Heaven. He sits on the right hand of the Father on high as our great Lord and High Priest forever.  As Lord, He is above every name that is named, has conquered all power and dominion, and is Head over His Church. As High Priest, He performs His ongoing mediatorial work for all who draw near to God through Him.  He will come again, supremely powerful and glorified, in bodily form at some future time to establish His Kingdom of righteousness and peace on earth.

Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God yet fell through disobedience. All men exist in a fallen unregenerate state except by salvation through the grace of God. Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all who repent of their sin and believe in Him and who receive the gift of eternal life. Salvation of lost and sinful humanity is possible only through the merits of the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ received by faith and is characterized by regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is a divine Person and the Spirit of Truth, sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower the believer, and to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.  Prior to the ministry of Jesus on earth, the Holy Spirit inspired God's chosen prophets as written in the Old Testament. Since the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit has been and continues to be poured out as a gift to all believers. Just as the Holy Spirit resurrected the physical person of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit empowers and enables all believers who are now children of God to live a holy life, sealed for the day of redemption.

It is the will of God that each believer be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly, being separated from a life of sin apart from the power of the god of this world and fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby receiving power to witness and work in effective and worthy service to God.  This is a progressive experience made in co-operation with the individual believer who asks and receives by faith the work, Presence, and blessing of the Holy Spirit, Who then glorifies Jesus as Lord and Savior and testifies to the will of the Father.

There is one true Church, which consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and which is comprised of all true believers. To fulfill Christ's commission, the Church must go onto all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all the nations, and making disciples. To fulfill God's commandments, believers must love the Lord God with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind, and love their neighbor as they love themselves. To keep Christ's commandments, believers must love one another. We are as much His disciples as we keep His commandments, as much His followers as we follow Him, and as much in His light as we walk in obedience to His light.

A community of believers shares with one another in love and celebrates their spiritual unity with God and each other in the observance of ordinances such as the Lord's Supper/Communion, Water Baptism, and open confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  Believers in Christ meet together for the worship of God, the proclamation of the gospel, edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, and for sharing with one another as the Holy Spirit has gifted and wills.   Believers await in blessed hope for the return of Jesus Christ in all of His glory.

The Father God is slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness but will not let the wicked go unpunished forever. Jesus did not judge at His first coming, but will after His second coming. According to His parables in Scripture, He will judge according to deeds and faithfulness, not sparing false believers or hypocrites from punishment. Those who are judged righteous will inherit the kingdom "prepared for them from the foundation of the world."

Every person who has ever lived and died will be stand before God who will judge all men's deeds through Jesus Christ. Those written in the "Lamb's book of life," inherit everlasting life and joy in His presence. Not all is known of this process of judgment and consignment except what is revealed in Holy Scripture and the assurance that all will be judged.
