But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18

Adding your site to the
Transforming Church Webring

Introduction

Thank you for your interest in adding your website to the webring. If you have not already done so, you should first have a tour of the ring to be sure that your site (or part of your wider website) fits within the general theme of 'Transforming Church'.

Requirements for admission to the webring

General requirements

A focus on change in the church, particularly as described on the homepage and the 15 Theses (click to read if you haven't already seen it), must be part of your site.

Disclaimer regarding specifics of the 15 Theses:
Because the words reformation, 5-fold, pastors, apostles, prophets, teachers and even elders may evoke responses in the reader that may be a stumbling block to them, we wish to clarify that we understand that some desire a complete distancing from these titles or roles in order to explore change. However, mature believers, no matter what they are called or thought of, are necessary for the health of any fellowship. Mature believers may also find themselves exploring the theological or practical development or maintainance of a viable way of meeting together as Christians. Because forging ahead often includes a necessary independence from all previous, unchanging and hardened wineskins before one can connect up with other like-minded believers, this webring was conceived as a help toward that reconnection. However, it is just a webring and not meant to represent a "covering" or any like constricting networking. The fact that there are so many who have presented themselves as having revelation and direction regarding change, and yet are false prophets, pastors, or elders, has complicated the issue so much that we write this paragraph to assure the reader that we understand such concerns some of the particular wordings in Wolfgang Simson's 15 thesis might evoke. However, his writing is just as good of an example as any for a general description of the 'revolution' that is desperately needed for our generation, and it is not written by ourselves which maintains our distance from micro-managing or micro-directing the whole philosophical process and minor variations. Therefore, it is posted as our example of the direction God is leading us all.

As there are many other Christian webrings around, we aim to keep this specifically to it's purpose: transforming church.

In order to weed out irrelevant websites or webmasters who only want commercial exposure/advertising, it is not enough to simply state you agree with the TC theme, we require that you have one or more pages on your site directly related to the theme of transforming church.  If you have only one page on your site that is specifically about revolution in the church, then we ask that you link ONLY that page to the ring. This saves people time in hunting for what is relevant to the webring when they reach your site. If you have a number of pages that are relevant, we suggest you set up a submenu and put the webring link there. If most of your site is dedicated to the transforming church theme, then by all means link to your home page!

We are pandenominational.

We are not associated with any denomination or organized movement, and our intent is to remain as nondivisive and nonsectarian as possible. This means that while it may be healthy or even necessary to critique the scriptural failings of hardened wineskins, attacking the Lord's work in more traditional structures with a sense of superiority (such as, exalting 'our way' as 'the only way') is counterproductive to our own spiritual integrity. This is the beginning of sectarianism, which leads to unnecessary separation and isolation from our brothers and sisters in Christ.  Contempt and divisive criticism is a symptom of spiritual pride, which 'poisons' a work so that eventually, in a generation or two, it becomes similar to what we thought of as defective in the first place. Rather, we intend to work in the spirit of unity with all believers who are humbly interested. We know that if someone is sectarian enough, they will ultimately not be able to work in a team without resorting to power struggles.  Pride, sectarianism and divisiveness can be found anywhere, and are revealers of character.

We are not in it for the money...

and we hope you aren't, either. We will patently reject websites with little or no free content. Websites that just have 'teaser' chapters for the books they are selling do not qualify as noncommercial.

Some other pointers

What you will need to put on your site

You will need to place a logo and some specific HTML code with the links to the ring on your website before your site will be linked into the ring.

Where to put the HTML code

The webring logo and links need to be:

on a webpage that is most relevant to the theme of the ring OR only one step removed with an obvious hyperlink label such as Webring.
The ring logo can be on the main homepage for your site ONLY IF almost your entire website is devoted to or fits with the purpose. Otherwise, the page with the ring connection should be on, or linked from, a webpage (normally a menu page) that contains links that fit within the theme of the ring. Nobody likes to be referred to a website when they are interested in something specific, and not be able to find it or to have to manuever through many different pages in order to find it!

If you only have ONE article that pertains to the webring's theme, then that page should have the webring logo on it! It is in your interest to ensure that the one page with the webring logo on it leads to all other relevant pages on your website which fit with the theme.

The Logo

The following graphic should be downloaded and placed on your site's webserver. Please do NOT link the graphic to our server as it will probably result in very slow loading for everybody. Thanks!

The HTML code fragment

The HTML code fragment will be sent to you by email (already customised for your site) when you submit your site using the form at the bottom of this page (go to the form now). Alternatively you can use the following HTML code which should be copied and pasted into your page, but it will need to be customised for your site:

<!--START OF TRANSFORMING CHURCH WEBRING CODE-->

<IMG SRC="tcwlogo.jpg" WIDTH="190" HEIGHT="190" BORDER="0" USEMAP="#imap1" ALT="Transforming Church Webring">

You then need to replace the following every time it appears in the code:

--id-- with your ring id number (it will be emailed to you when you submit your site to the queue)

The result should look something like this:

Submitting your site

You will need to fill out the following form and submit it so that your site will be added to the request queue. Your site will then be inspected to ensure that it meets all of the requirements for joining the webring.

You may want to find out How decisions are made about adding sites to the Transforming Church Webring.

If your site is accepted for addition to the ring then we will also check to make sure you have selected an appropriate page for locating the logo and HTML fragment for the ring and that the code is correct. Please note that the URL that you give in the form below should generally be the page that you think is most appropriate for putting the logo on (unless the webring logo is one page removed as described above).

We can NOT add your site to the ring UNTIL you have added the webring logo and HTML code to your homepage as the ring MUST be intact at all times. The ring will be periodically checked for continuity. You will receive email confirmation automatically on submitting your site to the queue. Under normal circumstances you should hear again from the ringmaster whether your site has been accepted within a week of your request being queued.

We look forward to your site joining the webring!
